Aidan Jones

Aidan Jones: The Abersham Flat
9pm, The Nook @ The Producers
Until March 18th
★★★★1/2
For raw, engaging, at times heartbreaking, but overwhelmingly hilarious storytelling, look no further than Aidan Jones. An Adelaide local, Jones tells the story of his years living in London with an actual, legitimate con-man – Andy.
Immigrating to England in your early 20s to build a career is hard enough. For Jones, working in a café by day and performing comedy shows across the UK by night was made all the more difficult with a sociopath for a housemate. To immortalise his time with Andy, Jones began writing a blog, committing Andy’s unique character to the annals of time, before Andy’s eventual arrest in 2016.
Meanders into stories of Jones’ heritage, his parents’ separation and chlamydia, elevate the performance. He creates a relaxed space, chatting to the audience as friends, sharing refreshing stories of vulnerability.
Ultimately, The Abersham Flat’s narrative is slick, funny and charming, just like Jones himself.
