Whale of a Tale

Join us at the South Australian Maritime Museum this school holidays for an epic tale of adventure – a Whale of a Tale!

Our tale begins when The Kid skips school and hides on Captain Barry Cousteau’s fishing boat. You guessed it ―The Captain weighs anchor unaware of his stowaway. Cast adrift on an ocean clogged with plastic, The Kid, and The Captain encounter sassy Sirena ― a mermaid on a mission! Her whale friend and its calf are snagged in a plastic net and need all the help they can get. Join the voyage and help this unlikely trio with their whale rescue.

Watch the performance, explore the Museum, climb the Lighthouse and, take the Whale Trail through our new exhibition Leviathan: An Astonishing History of Whales!

This daring deviant crosses with religion, fist fights with sexuality and discos with dildos. A master of falsetto and stiletto, Leather Lungs marries savage wit, outrageous innuendo and alien vocal range to drag you screaming with laughter into a world of pleasure, amusement and distraction. Leather Lungs will penetrate and titillate your unholy soul – be ready to resurrect your comfort zone.

It takes a lot of blood, sweat and queers to get to this stage and this son of a preacher has broken his shackles.

Warning: may contain traces of nuts, (p)leather, sequins and Dusty Springfield.
