Introducing ReadeBook – a creative space featuring a book store, coffee shop and café, printing facilities, function space and newsagency all in one. Officially opened this week in Rundle Mall, the space will host readings by prominent authors, book clubs and art classes, with the hub set to be Adelaide’s go-to ‘publication destination’.
Founder Anthony Antoniadis says, “We are more than just a place to buy books, cards or newspapers, we are offering our customers a retreat away from home where they can grab a coffee, meet with friends or discover a new book recommended by our in-the-know staff.
“We have created a living room like atmosphere within the Adelaide CBD that possesses a welcoming energy, relaxed vibe and most importantly, demonstrates a passion for old-fashioned books,” says Anthony Antoniadis.
ReadeBook recognises it is a difficult time for brick-and-mortar bookstores due to competition from online competitors and the rise of digital platforms. They are focused on providing a tailored customer experience, sense of local community and a variety of unique, hands-on offerings to drive their business’ success.
“We want to make print press popular again by encouraging an interactive environment that transforms reading from a solo to a group experience. Enjoy a barista made coffee alongside a freshly-made baguette while entrenching yourself in a best-selling novel or magazine – we are your escape from reality!” says Anthony Antoniadis.
The ReadeBook coffee shop and café offers a variety of locally sourced food offerings including bagels, brioches, focaccias and much more that can be enjoyed on a balcony overlooking the store or in seated areas on the ground floor.
“We wanted to provide multiple nooks for customers to engage with fellow book lovers, socialise with friends or relax while utilising our in-store printing hub – we even have an exclusive function space which can be booked to host business meetings and events,” says Anthony Antoniadis.
ReadeBook have exciting plans in the digital space. As their name suggests, they will be introducing eBooks as well as other innovative initiatives in-store in the near future. ReadeBook can be found at 146 Rundle Mall Adelaide.
