Henley Beach’s Most Iconic Venue is Reborn as Seamore’s

Henley Beach welcomes Seamore’s; a brand-new bar and restaurant located in the heart of Henley Square at the former site of Sandbar nightclub. Arguably Henley Beach’s most sought after location, Seamore’s has been reinvented into a casual, timeless and exciting new beach bar.

Seamore’s is the brainchild from the team behind MALOBO, New Nordic and Swedish Tarts, an independent family business of chefs, bakers and designers.

“We wanted to create a space that would be relevant and stand on its own for decades to come while being respectful to the building’s heritage,” says Co-Owner Mattis Vanzati.

“It’s a community focused venue that we want to feel like a second home to anyone who visits. We have put a huge emphasis on group dining and small function spaces to let people enjoy good food with great company.”

The food at Seamore’s is designed to be accessible and crowd-pleasing, offering a New York Italian meets Australian Surf Club menu, featuring handmade fresh pasta, long-ferment pizzas and hoagies. Unlimited pizzas and Bellinis are on offer every lunch along with a few other surprises on the menu. The drinks list could easily feel at home on the Italian Riviera and is a reflection of beach culture and energetic atmosphere of Henley Beach – sprightly, positive and easy-going.

“We wanted our menu to highlight food that you can have every night of the week without getting tired of it. There’s nobody in your group who won’t find something they’ll love. Our drinks are generous and tailored, and we have a collection of house botanical infused gins, barrel aged Negronis, Bellinis and spritzers. The food and drinks are priced affordably – we’re offering million-dollar views and cheap eats,” says Mattis Vanzati.

The design is eclectic and unique, drawing inspiration from the heritage of the site and community.  It features an array of private dining areas, large booth seating and stunning live plants throughout. The fitout highlights the architecture of the 100-year-old building, utilising the existing archways and features to complement the views.

At the heart of the redesign is an extensive 60-person balcony which overlooks Henley Beach and includes its own bar with its own distinct identity. Seamore’s offers chilled out beachy house music daily and welcomes a deejay playing disco beats on Friday and Saturday nights, which will create the perfect grown up venue for after dinner cocktails and dancing.

Seamore’s will be open seven days a week from 11am until late
