This day is for women preparing to give birth and for students of the Pre and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training Course.
Pru is a midwife, yoga teacher and parent educator and will take you on a journey of physical and emotional preparation and understanding of labour, birth and the first hours with your baby.
The day will include:
• Physiological labour and birth – how women and babies do what they do
• Techniques for preparing the body and mind for an easier labour and birth
• Creating space for baby using yoga and comfortable positions in pregnancy and labour
• Trusting normal
• Dealing with fear or anxiety
• Connecting with your body and baby
• Demystifying the physical sensations of labour and birth and learning ways of working with your body
• Setting up the birth environment, helpful tools and sounds
• Ways for support people to help you (and feel useful)
• What to expect if you are birthing in a hospital including the medical model and pharmaceutical pain management, including risks and benefits
If you are finding in this time of Covid Precautions that there is very little face to face birth preparation classes you may find this day supportive and beneficial.
Your partner/birth support person/doula is welcome to attend with you.
