The fifteenth annual Science Alive! promises some brand new hands-on experiences and incredible science shows to delight and engage all ages. Every one of the 60+ participating organizations will be offering something fantastic and interactive, all in a COVID Safe environment.
This year will also see the debut of a new Science v Magic Show that was a hit at this year’s Adelaide Fringe. Is it science? Is it Magic? Come and see!
2020 will also see the Science Alive! return of Marty McBubble’s incredible Scientific Bubble Show that features one of the tallest bubbles ever created.
Nitro Nat’s Crazy Colourful Chemistry Show explores chemical reactions, often with a firey and messy conclusion. One word to describe the show? Wicked!
Animals Anonymous will introduce you to their furry and slithery friends in their Native Animals Show which never fails to engage and delight. What new animals will appear on the Science Alive! stage for the first time?
And join living legends of science, Rob and Deane of The Curiosity Show fame with their fabulous llusions show!
2020 also brings a whole range of brand new exhibitors to Science Alive! The Southern Bricks Lego Users group are presenting a huge array of fantastic Lego creations to delight and inspire the next generation of engineers.
Robot Wars! You’ve seen it on TV, now see it LIVE for the first time at Science Alive! Frisbee-shaped robots try to outwit and outsmart each other in a tactical game of cat and mouse in an enclosed arena that makes compelling watching.
The Australian Dalek Builders’ Union will be here again in force, encouraging interest in the technology of Dalek-building and showing off their variety of full-sized Daleks – you might even get a chance to get up close and personal with them and even learn how to speak like a Dalek!

Explore all aspects of STEM with the builders of our next generation of submarines, the NAVAL Group; explore Virtual Reality technology with key local employers Lockheed Martin and Saab Australia; visit interactive booths of Bugs n Slugs, Young Scientists of Australia, Hackerspace, the SA Museum, Roboroos, Junior Field Naturalists and many more!
