Nature’s Wok

Nature’s Wok is challenging the way Australian’s think about
plant-based takeaway, inspiring eaters to join their plant powered
adventure through Asia. Nature’s Wok delivers Australians a reimagined
meat-free alternative take on popular Asian classic cuisines.
Parent company Concept Eight CEO, Grant Lee, says the menu has been
introduced only after ensuring they have had the right recipe for
success.

“Our team have rigorously tested countless plant-based proteins both
internally and externally via consumer focus groups, with premium
quality, flavour and texture our primary focus,” says Grant.

“We also looked further to reshape perceptions around plant-based
takeaway by ensuring we delivered a wide variety of different Asian
cuisine options that are both affordable and conveniently accessible,”
says Grant.

Nature’s Wok encourages an exploration of Asia. Each dish on the
extensive menu is chef prepared with a choice of either plant-based
beef or chicken protein, or tofu, with plant-based char siu pork
landing on the menu soon.

The menu ranges from wok-tossed noodles, fried rice bowls and
stir-fries, and include options such as a tangy Pad Thai Chicken in
plant-based oyster sauce, Korean Fried Tofu (KFT) with fresh Asian
slaw and Mongolian-inspired Peppered Beef Noodles, all served in 100%
compostable and recyclable packaging.

Nature’s Wok Brand Manager, Megan De Haas, says the menu will be
positively received among flexitarians, vegetarians and vegans, as
well as anyone who might be simply experimenting with meat-free
Mondays and seeking a tasty plant-based alternative to their favourite
Asian classic cuisines.

“We recognise that the movement towards reducing your meat intake is
increasing, which highlights a real gap in the market where current
plant-based takeaway options are limited,” says Megan.

“Making the switch to a meat-free alternative does not mean dull
flavours with limited choices. Nature’s Wok delivers on taste, variety
and premium quality where you’ll be left asking yourself ‘is this
really plant-based protein?’ it’s that good!” says Megan.

Nature’s Wok is initially launching across twelve outlets spanning
Queensland, South Australia and Victoria during May, with additional
locations to shortly follow into other states and territories.

The Nature’s Wok menu will be available online through the Concept Ate
Rewards app (from parent company Concept Eight), as well as UberEats
and DoorDash for delivery only at this stage. The virtual brand is
part of a wider strategy from Concept Eight to expand their brand
portfolio entering new categories.

Fellow Concept Eight brand, Pattysmiths, is further expanding their
plant-based options, with the online Plant Patty menu also appearing
in May.
