In 2023 the WEA is celebrating its 110th anniversary.

This is a considerable achievement for an organisation which has overcome significant adversity, from the First World War which broke out soon after the WEA came into existence, right up to the turbulent and financially challenging years of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To mark this milestone, we are holding an Open Day at WEA on Sunday 15th October 2023 from 10:00am to 4:00pm and inviting all South Australians to come and help us celebrate.

This is a FREE event suitable for all ages with something for everyone.

The WEA building will be abuzz with a dazzling array of free demonstrations and lectures throughout the day, and we will have a Market Hall operating in our basement, with students and tutors showcasing a wonderful range of products and services for sale.

Members of our WEA Volunteer History Project will also be displaying some of the fascinating historical materials they have uncovered as they sort, catalogue, digitise and research the rich history and heritage of the WEA in South Australia over its 110 years.
