**Vegan Festival Adelaide 2024: Because Peace begins on your plat**

The Vegan Festival Adelaide returns on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th December, from 11am to 5pm each day, held in the beautiful, tree-filled Rundle Park/Kadlitpina, right in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD.  Founded in 2007, the festival has become a cornerstone of Adelaide’s vibrant community events, attracting everyone from committed vegans to the “v-curious.”

This year, we’re proud to bring back beloved elements from our previous two-day festivals, reviving the excitement that has defined this event for years. In an era when many festivals around the country are closing their doors, we’re standing strong in our commitment to continue, driven by a shared vision of a kinder world for all beings.

Expect a weekend filled with around 60 stalls offering fabulous food, cruelty-free products, and plenty of furry friends to meet. The festival will feature live local vegan musicians, diverse workshops covering everything from yoga to activism, and a dynamic lineup of speakers and chefs sharing their passion for plant-based living.

Our mission is simple: to educate, celebrate, and inspire. With more than 20,000 edible plants available, the possibilities for delicious vegan meals are endless, and we aim to show just how easy and fun being vegan can be. The food lineup this year includes renowned vendors such as Staazi & Co. (ranked in the top 10 vegan food trucks globally), Lord of the Fries, and many others, serving everything from plant-based burgers and gluten-free donuts to refreshing alcohol-free mocktails.

As we gear up for the festive season, the Vegan Festival offers the perfect opportunity to shop for cruelty-free Christmas gifts, with a wide range of unique and ethical products available. There’s plenty for the kids, too, including craft sessions, a kids’ disco, and even giant chess. One of the most exciting features this year is our very own sausage sizzle, showcasing that no one needs to die for us to enjoy an Aussie tradition.

Our line-up of speakers is one of the most exciting yet. Zacchary Bird, famous for his recipes and  and iconic dance moves, will kick off the weekend with high-energy fun ‘Animal Rights Aerobics’. Throughout the festival, experts such as Rebecca Stonor & Dr. Heleene Haitjema from Doctors for Nutrition, Nadia Fragnito from The Italian Vegan Kitchen, and Cherie Hausler from All The Things will share their culinary wisdom.

Reminding us of why we need to live a vegan lifestyle  activism takes centre stage as we hear Kristy Alger speak passionately about the horrors of greyhound racing, and learn from the Farm Transparency Project team, led by Chris Delforce, who continue to expose the realities of animal cruelty in Australia. Yolanda Soryl joins us from New Zealand to share her amazing 35 year vegan journey. Amanda Walker, founder of Lord of the Fries, will offer insights into building a successful vegan business, while reality TV stars Sav from *Love Island* and Yasmine from *Million Dollar Island* will share their personal stories of staying true to their ethics.

Finally, we are honoured to have Jason Gillespie, cricket legend and committed vegan, as the festival patron. His advocacy for animal rights, sustainability, and compassion aligns perfectly with our vision for a kinder, more ethical world.

Join us this December and experience Adelaide’s beauty, delicious plant-based food, and the strong sense of community that Vegan Festival Adelaide has fostered for years. Peace begins on your plate this Christmas!
