For a proud and grand milestone, we bring you an equally grand offering. Forty for 40. Forty singers, forty parts. We present Thomas Tallis’ 40-part motet Spem in alium composed for 8 choirs in 5 parts and have commissioned a major work in 40 parts by our own Carl Crossin, as a sister work to the Tallis. Featuring members of Rising Voices and former-ACS singers, we place the artistry of the Renaissance alongside Crossin’s luminous compositional voice.
Featuring music by: Crossin, Tallis, Palestrina, Pärt, Laura Mvula, Reena Esmail, Owain Park and many more.
Pre-Concert Talk, 6.30pm
Join us for the pre-concert talk, and an insight into how a forty part motet and new commissioned work comes together.
Post-Concert Celebration, 9pm
Purchase a Celebration ticket* and be included in all the celebrations for our 40th anniversary!
Includes our In the Making open rehearsal, the pre-concert talk, Celebrate You concert and post-concert celebration. You’ll also receive a signed ACS A4 colour photograph and a signed Celebrate You concert program.
