There’s something electric about watching a performer hold an entire room and Jade Franks does exactly that.

Fresh from a celebrated Edinburgh season, Franks makes her Australian debut in Adelaide with a show that quickly proves its reputation.

With her unmistakable British accent anchoring the performance of Eat The Rich (but maybe not me mates x), Franks shifts seamlessly between characters and keeps the audience completely engaged from start to finish with her sharp wit, physicality and presence.

Franks journey from a working-class Manchester upbringing and a call centre job, to the esteemed halls of Cambridge is as hilarious as it is heartbreaking. At its heart, this is a story about navigating spaces that weren’t built for you. The script tackles class, status, privilege, and quiet prejudice with humour that lands confidently before the emotional weight quietly follows.

The tension of living a double life, striving academically by day, while secretly cleaning classmates’ rooms by night, creates moments that are equal parts funny and real.

Relatable, witty and deeply human, this is storytelling that connects across backgrounds. The packed-out audience was captivated, laughing, wincing and ultimately moved. A clever and compelling Fringe performance that lingers long after the final bow.
