Get lost in the wilderness with Campfire, a spooky-yet-hilarious adventure with two hapless campers and the little gremlin that lurks in the dark.
Like any good horror movie, the show begins with the creature stalking through the bush. Their creepy and unnerving physicality puts you on edge. Their bombastic aerial act gets the heart racing. Their wide eyes and inhuman grin give you the willies. So captivating that you want to keep watching – but maybe just through your fingers.
Luckily, the two campers arrive to provide some comedic relief. The pair pantomime their way through the bush with top-notch slapstick as they set up camp for the night, completely unaware of the spirit that is always nearby.
What follows is a playful mash-up of campy horror clichés and absurd comedy, told mostly in movement, The performers lean fully into their physicality, using expressive body language and impressive circus skills to track the duo’s increasingly chaotic misadventures.
But beneath the gags and jump scares lies a playful commentary on masculinity, friendship and the fragile bravado of two blokes trying to survive the night.
With its gut-busting, side-splitting, nail-biting theatrics, Campfire is a must-see show. When you hear its call, don’t ignore it. Cooee!
