Artisan creators and makers will be exposed to thousands of shoppers in the city as popular not-for-profit retailer, OmMade Meet the Maker, moves into Adelaide Arcade.
The popular organisation has flourished since its beginnings in 2018, already established in suburban malls and now in Adelaide’s most prized retail destination.
OmMade Meet the Maker President, Tina Walsh, says locals have appreciated meeting makers in the stores, and authenticity is their strength.
“We often say there is a story behind every item on the shelves, and it’s so true,” says Tina. “Customers have the unique opportunity to connect directly with the makers behind each product, encouraging relationships that go beyond transactions.
“OmMade Meet the Maker exists to empower and uplift South Australian artisans, helping them share their passion with the community while fostering a sustainable creative industry.”
Stores showcase more than 30 local artisans and makers, inspiring locals to shop consciously and discover meaningful products that reflect the creators’ passion and craftsmanship. Artists and business owners support each other as part of a community, under a shared vision to thrive in Adelaide’s vibrant creative scene.
Andrew Jonats, Adelaide Arcade General Manager, says OmMade Meet the Maker is the perfect extension to their ‘Shop Local. Shop Adelaide Arcade’ campaign.
“We’re proud to share that 90% of the businesses at Adelaide Arcade are South Australian-owned, and we’re thrilled to welcome another incredible local business to our vibrant community. When you shop at Adelaide Arcade, you’re not just making a purchase— you’re supporting local businesses and investing in the future of our
community, ” says Andrew.
Meet the Maker works as a platform for providing affordable access to prime retail spaces, enabling a sustainable, creative ecosystem where small businesses can flourish by sharing time, costs and space.
Products are handmade or ethically sourced, and include a variety of homewares, jewellery, candles, natural skincare, essential oils, hand-blown glass and leather goods. Sustainable and eco-friendly products are crafted with care and attention to detail, providing unique, heartfelt gifts that resonate with thoughtfulness and
creativity.
Open seven days a week, Meet the Maker brings artisan products to shoppers as a consistent, convenient alternative to weekend markets.
