ADELAIDE’S MULTICULTURAL EID FESTIVAL TO EXPECT 20,000 PATRONS IN 2025

Adelaide’s biggest multicultural festival expects to build on its success in 2025, with 20,000 locals and visitors anticipated to attend the event this year.

Attending Eid Festival is an unforgettable day out for families, encouraging people of all ethnicities and faiths to celebrate Islamic and Australian culture.

Taking over the Adelaide Showgrounds across Saturday, 12th April and Sunday, 13th April, this year’s festival is set to break attendance records.

Adelaide Multicultural Eid Festival spokesperson, Sophia Robertson, says more than 20 cuisines will be represented in a smorgasbord of food offerings.

“There will be more than twenty food stalls featuring the likes of everything from Turkish and Bosnian to Syrian, Palestinian and Indian food,” says Sophia. “The festival and different foods are to celebrate Eid -al-Fitr. It’s a beautiful time of year where people come together to pray, show gratitude for their blessings through
charity, and break their fast after the month-long Ramadan period, which is fasting between dawn and sunset,” says Sophia.

While the festival has a large focus towards the Muslim community, everyone is encouraged to attend to celebrate an event of important cultural significance for many of Adelaide’s citizens. Eid Festival is a chance for those outside the Muslim faith to see the culture and gain personal understanding.

Paired with market stalls and stage entertainment, this year’s Eid Festival will have the biggest ever food and entertainment area since the event began in 2010 and will provide the largest array of rides at any event in Adelaide outside of the Royal Show. There are four newrides to add to the fun, where a mix of scary rides, rollercoasters and fun adventures for the little ones keep both kids and parents entertained.

With children under five free and an entry fee of $14.30 for adults, $10.20 for children, or $39.80 for a family pass (two adults and two children), it’s an affordable day out with options to purchase ridetickets.

An unlimited ride pass is available for pre-purchase for $47.95, or $50 on the day. The pass will get you on the likes of such rides as the Kamikaze, Ali Baba, dodgem cars and the Hurricane. Choices for the little ones include a super slide, spin coaster and teacup ride, amongst others.

Fireworks on Sunday night and interactive sessions with sporting clubs will provide great memories after the fun of rides and other experiences on offer. Sideshow games and showbags, stage shows, a petting zoo, a rock-climbing wall and camel rides are just some of the other activities patrons can choose to enjoy.

Adelaide’s Multicultural Eid Festival, a volunteer-run, not-for-profit community event, is at Adelaide Showgrounds from 12pm to 8pm on Saturday, 12th and Sunday, 13th April 2025.
