ALL ABOARD THE STATION AT KAPUNDA FOR SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS

The Station at Kapunda has added to its reputation as fine accommodation in regional South Australia, now hosting licenced celebrations. The former 1860 railway station-turned-venue has seen an exponential increase in interest since its opening in 2021, with visitors from around the world enjoying the unique location. The Station has proven itself as a true destination and just an hour from Adelaide.

Owner, Bridget Kimber, says, “From elopements and weddings to private get-togethers and corporate parties, The Station now hosts celebrations for up to 100 guests, and we are thrilled to create memorable events for our clients.

”Situated on the edge of the Barossa Valley, The Station has already played host to bespoke celebrations with an iconic long table set on the platform of The Station. With an acre of grounds, including the stunning façade of the 1860 building, there are plenty of locations for guests to gather to create lasting memories.

Tailored celebrations are put together by the crew at The Station, with all-inclusive packages ensuring a unique luxury experience. All celebrations include two nights’ accommodation for ten guests and allow for the ultimate flexibility in choosing food and beverage options – BYO or all-inclusive. Regardless of the package chosen, all celebrations include simple, classic table settings, glassware, crockery and cutlery with your option to create any decorative desire. A venue manager is on hand for all events and bar staff are included to serve across the occasion making organisation a breeze.

‘The Ceremony and Stay’ wedding packages include a gourmet breakfast hamper for in-house guests and a sparkling tower for all guests after the ceremony to toast the couple. From $8,500 for intimate celebrations with less than 30 guests, and $10,500 for modest celebrations of up to 60 guests, the couple can choose their own caterers and supply their own beverages for the celebratory meal. Or to take the fuss out of planning altogether, a three-course dinner cooked by specially chosen chefs, with matched local wines and a wedding cake can be served as part of the ‘Ceremony, Celebrate and Stay ‘package for an extra $250 per guest.

“If couples are looking to truly escape to elope, then The Station might just be the perfect destination. Bespoke, intimate celebrations for up to ten guests include a celebrant, accommodation, chef prepared dinner and matched local wines for $9,800,” says Bridget.

The Station’s feel is one of understated luxury, complimenting the venue’s contemporary heritage. Versatility is its strength. It plays home to food and wine experiences perfect for those seeking a culinary immersion, and mid-week retreats for corporate groups seeking a mix of work, rest and play.

Accommodation hosts up to ten people across The Station, which has seen families, couples and groups of friends already enjoy the venue’s unique serenity.

On-site consultations are available at The Station, located at 19 Railway Parade, Kapunda South Australia. Weddings are limited to ten per season and the venue is now taking bookings up to May 2026.
