Adelaide’s East End welcomes the vibrant Brazilian barbecue restaurant, B’Churrasco, to an exciting revamped space, previously home to PJ O’Brien’s.
The team from B’Churrasco, a concept which has taken the Melbourne market by storm, have relocated from the South-East Coast to open the unique dining experience in Adelaide.
The restaurant showcases distinctive Brazilian flavours in its selection of meats, poultry, sausage, sauces and sides, with each dish traditionally prepared and then cooked over charcoal on giant skewers. The expertly cooked meats are then circulated to tables and hand carved by the passador, straight from the skewers onto the diner’s plate.
“B’Churrasco was established in central Melbourne in 2013 and has been loved by locals ever since. Throughout this time, many football players, tennis players, Brazilian football teams and celebrities have visited our restaurant,” says Owner, Jack Poon.
“I asked my team if they wanted to come to Adelaide to open the second B’Churrasco restaurant, and many said yes. We then searched across Adelaide for the ideal location” Jack says.
“Our search led us to the East Terrace site, which was the perfect size and location – and one that is full of history and character.”
The B’Churrasco team are experienced in repurposing historic buildings. B’Churrasco’s Melbourne location was originally a publishing house, which was transformed into a 200-person restaurant and purpose-built kitchen. This experience has allowed the team to learn and grow, and ultimately expand the concept to Adelaide’s East End.
B’Churrasco Head Chef, Arthur Santos, is just one of the experienced staff to relocate from Melbourne. A Sao Paulo native, Arthur uses traditional Brazilian cooking techniques to showcase locally supplied meats.
“South Australia has wonderful produce. Our menu only uses meat from local suppliers and butchers who focus on the quality of the meat,” he says.
“We prepare our meats the Brazilian way, seasoned only with rock salt, so the flavour of the meat can really shine. It is then cooked over charcoal on skewers and carved directly on to your plate. It is very theatrical – visiting B’Churrasco is a true dining experience!”
Guests will enjoy up to twelve different meats in one ‘round,’ including a selection of local beef, pork, chicken and lamb in a range of authentic marinades.
The B’Churrasco concept is unique, distinctive and simply must be experienced firsthand. With a long list of Adelaide foodies already queuing up to experience B’Churrasco, it is set to become a hallmark in Adelaide’s bustling East End culinary scene.
B’Churracso is located at 10-12 East Terrace, Adelaide and is open for dinner Wednesday – Sunday.
