BEACHSIDE LOCATION MAKES COAST RESTAURANT THE NEW TOAST OF GLENELG

Beachfront views and quality menus are what new restaurant Coast is bringing to Glenelg’s Marina Pier.
A modern Mediterranean restaurant with fresh interior décor and a focus on seafood will provide a new premium experience to the popular foreshore.

Greg Maitland, GM Hotels Owner, says the restaurant is a fresh take on dining to further activate Marina Pier.

“Coast is a full-service restaurant, which will provide a memorable experience to all customers,” says Greg. “We want people to enjoy the attentive and friendly service, and our quality food and beverages.

“With our 80 metres of uninterrupted ocean views, it doesn’t get much better than that along our amazing coastline.”

Led by Executive Chef, Chris Wotton, and Head Chef, Sam Helyard, the menu offers oysters and sashimi as starters, moving to main courses like king prawn fettucine and bouillabaisse. The menu is rounded out by other options including gnocchi and a vegan-friendly roasted eggplant dish.

South Australian wine and gin will feature on the beverages menu, which Greg says compliments the use of seafood from across the Eyre Peninsula.

“We want to present local produce to our customers wherever we can, to show off what we love about South Australia,” says Greg. “Our name is inspired not just by the location itself, but the feelings of being beachside, and what we eat by the coastline.”

Coast employs 30 staff with breakfast available seven days and lunch and dinner service available Wednesday to Sunday.

Coast is part of the Pier Hotel complex. The restaurant is the first phase of a $2 million renovation of the Pier Hotel, which includes the function rooms and Pier Bar.

GM Hotels manages 16 venues across South Australia and employees more than 500 staff. Venues in the portfolio include Republic, Beach Hotel, Christie’s Beach and the Tower Hotel.
