Rachel Vidoni raises the roof again – following her previous show – The Queen Rock Show – with her powerful vocals in ‘Come Together – The Beatles Rock Show’, an award winning show. Her charisma and sass made this Beatles tribute a delicious treat for the audience.
She was backed up by two angelic, agile dancers who pirouetted their way across the stage, changing outfits and routines to match the vast array of Beatles songs.
My favourite was the solo dance with the song “Yesterday”, it was emotional and beautiful and gave the song more depth. The dancers alone could have had their own show worthy of awards.
Rachel also had back-up singers and her band. Wow, talk about sensory overload!!!! She also tried to cram in as many Bealtes songs as she could, having to pause – allowing the audience and back-up singers to take over briefly – while she got her breath back.
The songs were not always exact replicas, with some unique enhancements to the delight of Beatles fans.
Dare I say it, I’ve never really taken an interest in listening to Beatles songs; however, after this show I was surprised how many songs I actually knew and how good the music was. I gained a new appreciation thanks to this incredible team of performers.
My friend who joined me is however a hard core Beatles fan and these groupies need some grit with less well-known tunes to keep them excited. Rachel delivered in spades and he was pleasantly pleased.
This is a brilliant must see show, even if you are not a Beatles fan.
