Dolly Di*mond’s Bl*nkety Bl*nks is based on the classic top-rating variety show – Graham Kennedy’s Blankety Blanks, but with a little bit more sass, sex appeal and lots of glitter!
Dolly enters the stage with a rendition of our favourite Australian disco song “Love is in the Air”, and despite the heat and a smaller audience everyone sings along with enthusiasm! Dolly then gets to know a little about her audience and shows off her quick wit and sharp tongue with some audience banter.
We then get to meet out celebrity panel, which includes the one and only Carlotta who was in Adelaide for her Fringe show Carlotta: Queen of the Cross. Comedian Cal Wilson is also on the panel as well as local identity Vonni who is launching a new variety show called SHOW OFF at Mary’s Poppin.
A game show cannot go on though without some contestants, who are chosen from the audience – and Dolly chose well as one contestant has a hand fan and continues to fan her on stage for the remainder of the night! What follows is much the same format as the original television show – with the content a little more, shall we say salacious!?
At the end of the show, the contests do poorly but everybody wins with this variety show – a little bit cabaret, a little bit comedy and a whole lot of fun for everyone (aged over 18 of course!).
