ELA RESTAURANT TO FEATURE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN WINES IN WINTER TASTING SERIES

Hotel Alba’s restaurant, ela, will host its first Winter Wine Series from June to September showcasing four wineries from across South Australia’s prestigious wine regions.

The limited dinner series starts with a feature look at Barossa Valley’s Seppeltsfield Wines on Friday, 21st June, where diners will be treated to an exclusive tasting of the 1924 Para Vintage Tawny. Samantha Farrington, General Manager, says the special event series will bring the warmth of the Mediterranean to the coldest of Adelaide months.

“We are serving a delectable sit-down selection of fresh, seasonal share plates that represent the best of the Mediterranean,” says Samantha. “Paired with amazing South Australian wines, it’s an indulgence no-one will want to miss.”

As well as Seppeltsfield, McLaren Vale will be represented by Vigna Bottin and Gemtree Wines, while The Lane Vineyard gives the Adelaide Hills a look-in as we come into spring.

All dinners are hosted by ela’s Executive Chef, Nigel Rich, as well as representative winemakers to share the rich detail behind chosen food and wine pairings.

The Seppeltsfield experience will feature a flight paired with each of the four courses presented for the meal, with Chief Winemaker, Fiona Donald, on hand to explain the notes of each wine offering.

The experiences, priced at $159 per person, will be hosted in ela’s private dining room and will only host 26 at each event, further enhancing the series as an exclusive occasion.

Special dining events are ela’s calling, with Mediterranean-inspired lunches that take hold for daytime indulgence.

The Express Lunch Menu showcases a new signature dish from the menu every week, and for $39, the set main meal is served with a glass of wine, beer or soft drink. This is strictly available from Monday to Friday, from 12pm to 2pm. Walk-ins are welcome, and dietaries can be catered for.

There is also a Bottomless Lunch option for diners on weekends, who can share a luxurious three-course lunch accompanied by a two-hour drinks package (including bottomless prosecco, mimosas, gin mixers, tap beers and soft drinks). The Bottomless Lunch is available to book on Saturdays at 12pm or 2pm, and Sundays at 12pm.
