UniSA SUCCESSFUL AGEING SEMINAR – Understanding & improving outcomes for cancer patients and survivors in rural areas

September 21, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Almost all of us know someone who is affected by cancer. Did you know that people affected by cancer who live in remote areas of Australia are 35% more likely to die within five years of their diagnosis, than people with the same disease who live in the city?

As part of our Successful Ageing Seminar series, we invite you to attend this free seminar to hear from two distinguished researchers at the University of South Australia Cancer Research Institute – Professor Ian Olver AM and Dr Kate Fennell – on the topic of improving outcomes for cancer patients and survivors in rural areas.

Professor Olver and Dr Fennell will outline the differences in rural and urban cancer survivors’ characteristics that may help explain this inequality in survival and strategies.

Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits served in the break.

Attendance at the seminar is free but registration is essential.
