In this full day workshop participants develop strategies for visual arts education, including ways to use works of art in AGSA’s collection as a starting point for your lessons.
Begin the day with a tour of the Gallery which will focus on visual conventions as provocations for arts learning. Hear from Education Coordinator Kylie Neagle on planning arts lessons and participate in three workshops facilitated by experienced visual arts educators currently working in South Australia schools, Harriet Geater-Johnson, Kate Wright and Lisa Zappia. These workshops will include information on structuring a unit of work and lesson, student examples as well as an opportunity to try your hand at each activity.
With year 7 students moving to secondary schooling in 2022, this presents a new opportunity to revisit old units of work, and introduce your students to some alternative artists or ideas.
Lunch and morning tea provided.
