The Australian Poetry Slam is the nation’s highest level of competition for spoken word and performance poetry. Over five action-packed heats, South Australia has locked in ten cream-of-the-crop State Finalists. On the stage of the picturesque Goodwood Institute Theatre, these ten poets will battle it out for the top spot. It’s high stakes – not only are there cash prizes for the winner and runner-up, but those top two competitors will be sent through to the National Finals at the Sydney Opera House.
The judging is done by five randomly selected audience members, and the rest of the crowd are encouraged to stomp, holler, and cheer as the competition proceeds. With a guest feature spot from award-winning cabaret star FRANKLY, this is a night of entertainment that is not to be missed!
