SUMMARY:The Screaming Jets + Boom Crash Opera
DESCRIPTION:The Screaming Jets proudly announce a national tour with rock contemporaries and special guests\, Boom Crash Opera. These two Australian Radio favourites team up to deliver a powerhouse of high rotation hits in what is sure to be one of the rock events of the year! \nFor over 25 years\, The Screaming Jets have enjoyed high rotation for their songs on National Commercial Radio including: ‘Helping Hand’\, ‘Shivers’\, ‘Shine On’ ‘Stop The World’ ‘October Grey’ ‘Eve Of Destruction’\, ‘Sad Song’\, ‘Friend of Mine’ ‘Cash In Your Ticket’ & ‘Automatic Cowboy’. \nWith a revitalized line up of Dave Gleeson (vocals/worldly opinions)\, Paul Woseen (bass)\, Jimi Hocking (guitar)\, Scott Kingman (guitar) and new drummer Mark McLeod pounding the skins\, the Jets are in fine form approaching their 30th anniversary in 2019. \nBoom Crash Opera’s hits span a similar history to the Jets\, starting in the late 1980’s with ‘Onion Skin’\, ‘Dancing in The Storm’\, ‘Great Wall’\, ‘Hands Up In The Air’\, ‘Get Out Of The House’\, ‘The Best Thing’\, ‘Gimme’\, ‘Bettadaze’ and ‘Talk About It’. In the words of Rob Ryan from acrosstheocean.com.au “Boom Crash Opera’s bankable discography is a real treasure trove of greatness” and “It isn’t until you see this band that you realize how many great songs they have in the armoury.” \nBoom Crash Opera’s current line-up of Andrew De Silva (vocals)\, Peter “Bungie” Farnan (guitar/vocals)\, Peter “Maz” Maslen (drums/vocals) & John Favaro (bass) (keyboards/guitar) continues to reinforce their legendary live reputation from their early roots in the late 1980’s to present day. \nThe ROCK RADIO RIOT tour will be the only chance to see The Screaming Jets and Boom Crash Opera sharing the stage in the great pub rock venues of Australia. They will be playing all their greatest hits from the late 1980’s and early 1990’s as well as new material and some other Aussie classic rock staples revitalized by the Jets. \nIf you’d like more information about this show\, or to request an interview please call Sarah Martin (08) 8340 4697 or email Sarah at publicity@thegov.com.au \nTHE SCREAMING JETS + BOOM CRASH OPERA\nThe Gov | Sat 1 Sep\nTickets: $45 + Booking Fee\nVIP) $80 + Booking Fee\nDoors open @ 7:30 pm

SUMMARY:Willunga Almond Blossom Festival
DESCRIPTION:As the Willunga Almond Blossom Festival moves into its 49th year\, this festival has gone all out to present a bigger and brighter event with activities for people of all ages. SUMMARY:Tomfoolery - The Words and Music of Tom Lehrer
DESCRIPTION:TOMFOOLERY – The Words and Music of Tom Lehrer\nAdapted by Cameron Mackintosh and Robin Ray. Musical arrangements by Chris Walker and Robert Fisher. \nTomfoolery\, the words and music of acclaimed American musician\, singer-songwriter satirist and Harvard mathematician Tom Lehrer\, returns to Adelaide for a limited five performance season. The show is being reprised for a 10th Anniversary tribute to the late Michael Fuller\, director and choreographer of the sell-out 2008 Adelaide Fringe season of Tomfoolery at La Boheme. \nDirected by Nicholas Cannon and starring Catherine Campbell\, Hew Parham and Sean Weatherly with chamber pianist Mark Sandon\, the show features performances of 23 of Lehrer’s most famous songs including: Poisoning Pigeons in the Park\, Pollution\, I Got it From Agnes\, National Brotherhood Week\, The Masochism Tango\, The Old Dope Peddler\, The Vatican Rag and We Will All Go Together When We Go. Also included will be the five songs which the deeply conservative Playford and McEwin Liberal Government controversially banned from performance by Lehrer here in Adelaide in 1960. \nThe banned songs: Be Prepared\, My Home Town\, When You are Old and Grey\, The Irish Ballad and I Hold Your Hand In Mine were all considered to be too naughty and controversial for the genteel sensibilities of Adelaide audiences. \nThe Advertiser reported that Sir Lyell McEwin called Lehrer ‘Ghoul singer’ whilst years later Lehrer told The Advertiser the ban was ‘the high point of my career’. \nProducer Sean Weatherly ponders if Adelaide is ready to hear the five songs the Government banned from being performed in 1960\, ‘Perhaps the show will provide a test for Steven Marshall’s ‘tough on crime’ policies\, when we will deliberately defy that proclamation banning the five songs. When you listen to the songs today\, almost 60 year later\, it’s very hard to tell why they were banned at all\, but they are still clever pieces’. \nPhone Bookings on (08) 8375 6855 or online via Loaded Productions website\nwww.loadedproductions.com.au\nwww.facebook.com/LoadedProductionsAustralia
