SUMMARY:Davinyls rock the Kings Head Hotel
DESCRIPTION:The Divinyls planted themselves firmly into the history books as one of Australia’s super rock acts. Chrissy Amphlett was the first and greatest Australian female rock singer of all time and changed the landscape of Aussie rock music. \nToday The Davinyls celebrate Chrissy Amphlett and the Divinyls by delivering a stunning portrayal of these rock icons. Lead vocalist for The Davinyls\, Xen Amaterasu\, compliments the charismatic Chrissy\, whilst injecting her own electric personality\, bringing Chrissy Amphlett back into our lives\, if only a brief moment. \nWith some of Australia’s best musicians driving this freight train\, we offer just one word of advice – when The Davinyls leave the station\, buckle yourself in and enjoy the ride. \nThe Davinyls have been performing in Adelaide & Melbourne to packed venues. \nOne tends to forget just how successful The Divinyls were and how many hits they had. As Ian Molly Meldrum used to say\, do yourself a favour and check them out.

SUMMARY:Obie Trice - Adelaide
DESCRIPTION:OBIE TRICE AUSNZ TOUR 2018\nAdelaide // 13th July // Fowlers Live (all ages)\nTickets on-sale now – www.raptix.com.au & venue outlet. \nVeteran Detroit Rapper Obie Trice Announces ‘Cheers’ 15th Year Anniversary Australian & New Zealand Tour \nThe Real Name No Gimmicks rapper Obie Trice is hitting Australia & New Zealand shores this July to celebrate his album ‘Cheers’ 15th Year Anniversary. \nThe title track “Cheers” celebrates Obie’s successful debut into the rap game after being in the Detroit underground for many years. The album’s title is a homage to the long running NBC sitcom of the same name. \nTopics Obie has touched on this album include his life on the streets of Detroit\, problems with his mother\, relationships with women and the soulful reminder that\, despite having made it into the mainstream\, he has not forgotten his friends.\nThe album debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200 with 226\,000 copies sold in its first week and has sold over 2 million worldwide \nThe notable album also received love down-under as an ARIA charting album with 2 big singles being recognised in 2003. \nObie Trice went from no one to someone in the rap world quickly when Eminem signed him to Shady Records and executive produced his debut album ‘Cheers.’ \nBorn on the west-side of Detroit in the Schoolcraft and Greenfield area\, Trice began his rap career humbly. He dropped out of Cooley High School in the early ’90s and began making ends meet\, which wasn’t too easy in the cold\, abandoned streets of Detroit. \nHis turning point came in 1998 with the birth of his daughter\, Kobie. Shortly afterward\, he took note of Eminem’s breakthrough success in 1999 and began to have faith that he too could make it in the rap game\, despite living in wayward Detroit. \nFast forward a few years and Obie has cemented an extensive rap career of his own by establishing an independent music label ‘Black Market Entertainment.’ His first release from the label was ‘Bottoms Up\,’ and in 2015 he released ‘Good Girls’ from his album ‘The Hangover.’ \nStill in the game\, and with no intention of stopping Obie’s shows will be one not to be missed. \nAUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND TOUR DATES \n12 JULY // MELB // Max Watt’s House of Music (Melb)\n13 JULY // ADELAIDE // Fowlers Live (aa)\n14 JULY // PERTH // Metro City\n19 JULY // DARWIN // Opium Darwin\n20 JULY // SYD // Max Watt’s House of Music (Syd)\n21 JULY // BRISBANE // The Back Room Brisbane\n22 JULY // GOLD COAST // Miami Shark Bar\n26 JULY // CHRISTCHURCH // Sullivans Irish Pub\n27 JULY // AUCKLAND // Neck of the Woods\n28 JULY // WELLINGTON // The Grand \nTickets can be purchased via www.raptix.com.au & venues now.

SUMMARY:Clearway Live At The Slug
DESCRIPTION:CLEARWAY is not an Adelaide band\, it’s an Adelaide institution! Originally formed in 1987 by the Lopresto brothers\, the band has been playing continuously to enthusiastic audiences in cities & towns across Australia\, delivering high energy sets\, catchy tunes and an unapologetic worship of old school Rock’N’Roll bombast! The band have supported many national & international acts such as Status Quo\, INXS\, Jimmy Barnes & John Farnham to name but a few. They have also played at such gigs as The SANFL Grand Final\,The Phillip Island Moto GP\, The Australian Grand Prix & The Clipsal 500 before a crowd of 50\,000!\nDanny Lopresto on lead vocals & guitar also plays a wide variety of instruments proficiently and is highly responsible for giving CLEARWAY it’s unique sound. Danny has written and performed in original bands\, sung T.V jingles and has recorded many voice overs. In 2005\, he was chosen as the South Australian representative to audition as lead vocalist for INXS\, beating out many hopefuls and finishing in the Australian top 20. In 2010\, he took on and conquered the role of Judas in the stage production of Jesus Christ Superstar performing to sold out crowds nightly.\nMax Lopresto on lead guitar & backing vocals has played guitar for over 30 years\, proving his ability by winning the Fender/Coca Cola sponsored ‘Guitar Challenge’ in 1995. Max has also been a touring & studio session guitarist\, but is happiest when playing his ‘Keith Richards’ to Danny’s ‘Jagger’!\nSince joined by their nephew Kristian ‘The K-Man’ Lopresto & his dynamic drumming style\, CLEARWAY is conquering it’s fourth decade with the same youthful vigour & shows no signs of slowing down!

SUMMARY:I Spit On Your Gravy\, Psycho Green & Soberphobia
DESCRIPTION:After having far too much fun early last year playing in Adelaide\, I Spit On Your Gravy couldn’t resist the temptation to come back and play at the Enigma Bar\, Saturday July 7th. \nPutting the band to rest back in 2000 after a sellout ‘last ever show’\, the band got back together 18 months ago as part of the 10 year memorial of Robbie Rockets life\, who did a stint in the Gravys before joining Cosmic Psychos. \nWord spread to Adelaide that I Spit On Your Gravy had played\, and they soon found themselves over there playing 2 wild shows.\nShortly after\, they played a couple of secret gigs in Melbourne\, including a short set at Fred Negro’s Pub Exhibition in December.\nWith shows booked for Brisbane and Melbourne\, I Spit On Your Gravy are really looking forward to getting back to Adelaide to play. \nSupports on the night are Psycho Green and Soberphobia.

SUMMARY:Adelaide - (All Ages) The Bennies\, Gooch Palms & Young Offenders
DESCRIPTION:pool house records presents\nTHE BENNIES\nwith GOOCH PALMS & YOUNG OFFENDERS \nThursday July 5th\n@ Adelaide Uni Bar\, Adelaide \nTickets on sale from Oztix – https://goo.gl/DExz5M \n————————————–\nAll-round legends The Bennies will be taking their pumping new album Natural Born Chillers around the country next month\, continuing their reign of taking 2018 as their own. The 11 date run will see the four-piece take to regional and metro hotspots across five states including VIC\, NSW\, QLD\, SA and TAS. \nThe Bennies kicked off their year in fine form with the release of their new album — which came out on The Smith Street Band’s revered label Pool House Records — in February. The eight-track\nbelter was quickly picked up as Album Of The Week by The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald and garnered a massive 9/10 rating from Melbourne street press\, Beat Magazine. \nFollowing the release\, the band enjoyed slots at St. Kilda Festival\, the inaugural Pool House Party as well as the tenth anniversary of The Hills Are Alive. These would be the last performances for\ndeparting bassist Craig Selak after nine years with the group\, although The Bennies would assure party levels remained at an all time high with the recruitment of Nicholas Williams of Foxtrot on bass duties. \nFresh blood in the mix and their brand new album at the ready\, The Bennies then took to Europe and The UK. With 30 shows in 32 days The Bennies have been showcasing their blistering live act to huge crowds at festivals such as Uncle M Fest and Antattack in Germany and Austria’s SBÄM Festival as well as playing to hundreds at their first London headline show. \nUpon their return The Bennies are geared to keep it all going during their home country tour and have locked in an unfathomably sweet selection of supports to help them do so. Punk-rock duo The\nGooch Palms are set to come along for the ride\, who are known for their gloriously noisy and gritty guitar fare and energetic live presence. Meanwhile rapidly up-and- coming indie punk-rockers from Adelaide\, Young Offenders\, will also join the festivities.

SUMMARY:dead legends @ the pub : PUBsing
DESCRIPTION:As the proverb from Zimbabwe tells us: “If you can walk you can dance and if you can talk you can sing.” \nAngela Sharp and Lisa Lanzi have long held this to be true and now\, once a month\, are taking their energy into a City of Adelaide watering hole (The Jade in Flinders Street). \nThese two women have worked within their artistic partnership BodySONG for 9 years sometimes co-directing up to nine inclusive community choirs each week.  They have run projects with women in prison\, women affected by homelessness\, those with mental health issues\, the frail and elderly\, those affected by dementia\, Parkinson’s Disease or stroke and disabled people. \nApart from their work together\, Angela is the Director of 2 outstanding community choirs: the all-female Allegria Absolutely (who just celebrated their 10th birthday) and In Good Company\, a mixed gender group.  She also runs shorter choir projects from time to time (more information and opportunities available on the BodySONG Facebook page).  Lisa is a former professional dancer and trained actor who does project work locally and internationally as an actor\, director and choreographer as well as relief lecturer in movement for actors at Adelaide College of the Arts and running other community dance projects. \nPUBsing has been on the to-do list for over a year but with other projects at full steam and the need to look for an appropriate venue\, Lisa and Ange have just launched at The Jade on May 1st with 100 people turning up to take part in the fun.  Hereafter\, on the first Tuesday of the month\, PUBsing will fill the space on Flinders St with harmony and a song from a legend of popular music who has departed this world.  The first song was ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ from the awe-inspiring Freddie Mercury but you have to stay tuned to Facebook to find out what the song will be each month.  (Search PUBsing on Facebook and you’ll find the information – it is a public page so you don’t have to be a member.) \nIn 75 minutes (with a few *drink* breaks) Lisa and Ange teach you the featured song and harmonies with Rob Andrew on guitar.  Lyrics are projected on screen and no preparation is needed\, just a willingness to sing out and have fun. You are among friends (even if you have just met them!)\, have a drink in hand if you wish AND it’s not just about the singing.  There is a spirit of camaraderie and delight in the room so if you have only ever been a secret shower-singer or someone who always thought they COULDN’T sing then this is the activity for you.  There is no pressure to sing harmony as there is always the melody to fall back on.  However\, if you are more experienced\, you can soak up the harmony and sing with full voice.  Being in a group of like-minded humans and singing in harmony is one of those special life-moments and great for people who don’t have time to commit to a weekly choir rehearsal and all the performances.
