SUMMARY:Adelaide Adult Glee Club Launch Night (Eastwood)
DESCRIPTION:Get Ready to Sing Adelaide. Adult Glee Club is here. An hour a week just for you!\nWhat we’ll do\n\nWe’re about to launch our first Adelaide Chapter from Tuesday 1 May\, 2018. Hooray! \nIf you can’t make the launch night\, don’t sweat. We’ll be singing every Tuesday (except during school holiday times) and you can come along to trial a Glee session anytime. \nYou can choose to register for a trial pass through this Meet Up event or via our official website. We’d prefer the website registration so we can ensure you’re receiving the necessary information about songs\, event updates and performance updates. \nwww.adultgleeclub.com.au \nThe Adult Glee Club is an amazing community of people who welcome people of all musical abilities\, backgrounds and tastes. It’s more than a choir as such. Consider us like yoga. An activity you’ve been hearing about and curious to try out. Except\, with Adult Glee Club\, it’s all about singing. There’s no auditions\, no experience necessary. Just a willingness to give it a try. You might think you’re not any good\, but it’s also something you’ll get better at the longer you’re doing it. We’ve seen all sorts of people join our Gleek Community. \nThose who used to sing and are looking for a social and fun way to reignite their passion\, those who are vocal students or karaoke enthusiasts\, those who need a new hobby or some music therapy\, and those who have never ventured into the world of group singing. Whatever the reason\, Adult Glee Club is the perfect place to start singing. \nWith locations across various Australia states and cities\, the Adult Glee Club invites you to join them for a trial visit. If you end up joining for the term\, you’ll be able to visit other Glee Clubs at no extra cost. So if you’re a frequent flyer\, you can join us in Sydney\, Brisbane\, Melbourne or Adelaide. How cool is that? We love nothing more than to see people develop their confidence through singing and to ultimately see them transform and get creative with their singing. \nWHAT REALLY HAPPENS IN GLEE?\nThe best way to really find out what happens at Glee is to watch this little video we created and posted on Youtube. Don’t mind the iphone quality recording\, but we feel it best represents the community feel we’re creating for our Gleeks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHrV7a4cUs0 \nDon’t forget to bring some water and a folder for any lyric sheets or music you will be given. \nLAUNCH SPECIAL\nIf you’ve purchased a trial pass online we have a special running where you can bring a friend for FREE (but only valid in May). \nCOST OF JOINING\nThe cost of a trial pass is $22. When joining for the term cost is $170 (covers 10 weeks). If you decide to first purchase a trial pass for $22\, then decide to sign up\, you just need to pay the balance of $148 to cover the term. \nTo officially register\, please do so via our website www.adultgleeclub.com.auor purchase a trial pass through Meetup. \nBring a willing to sing attitude and you’ll be just fine. \nHosted by Riccardo Barone

SUMMARY:A Little Night Music
DESCRIPTION:Join the G&S Society for A Little Night Music \nAudiences will be taken for “A Weekend in the Country” when A Little Night Music\, returns in an all-new production for The G&S Society at the Arts Theatre in April/May. \nStephen Sondheim creates a stunning tour de force when he takes Ingmar Bergman’s comedy of manners\, Smiles of a Summer Night\, and turns it into a musical of masterful execution and elegance. Winner of four Tony Awards\, this is a musical work that has forever entranced the world of theatre. \nSet in 1900 Sweden\, A Little Night Music explores the tangled web of affairs centred around actress\, Desiree Armfeldt (Bronwen James)\, and the men who love her: a lawyer by the name of Fredrik Egerman (Robin Schmelzkopf) and the Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm (Nicholas Bishop). When the travelling actress performs in Fredrik’s town\, the estranged lovers’ passion rekindles. This strikes a flurry of jealousy and suspicion between Desiree; Fredrik; Fredrick’s wife\, Anne (Emilene Whitehead); Desiree’s current lover\, the Count; and the Count’s wife\, Charlotte (Deborah Caddy). Not to mention Fredrik’s son Henrik (William Richards)\, who is in love with Anne. \nBoth men – as well as their jealous wives and Henrik – agree to join Desiree and her family for a weekend in the country at Desiree’s mother’s estate. With everyone in one place\, infinite possibilities of new romances and second chances bring endless surprises. \n“I simply adore this show” says director Pam O’Grady\, who has herself played Desiree\, “I love working with Ric Trevaskis (Associate Director) and Christine Hodgen (Musical Director) to bring the production to life.” \nA Little Night Music is full of hilariously witty and heartbreakingly moving moments of adoration\, regret and desire\, and contains Sondheim’s popular song\, the haunting “Send in the Clowns.” \nA LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC runs in a limited season of just 10 performances at The Arts Theatre\, 53 Angas St Adelaide\, from April 26 to May 5. \nPraise for the G&S Society’s last show\, Les Misérables: \n“IT’S a Festival Theatre show poured out onto the Arts Theatre stage. This spectacular G&S Society production” – The Advertiser \n“It quite literally leaves you spellbound in your seat.” – Stage Whispers\n\n“The combination of gorgeous voices\, superior acting and creative design means this production has an engaging sense of originality. It is hard to imagine a better amateur production of this beloved show.” – Adelaide Theatre Guide \n“A wondrous night out” – Encore
