Two South Australian music legends, Chris Finnen and Gwyn Ashton share the bill in a world-class night of blues.
Gwyn Ashton, dubbed the king of feel, returns to Adelaide and opens the show with his solo folk and swamp rockin boogie ‘n’ blues set, masterfully mixing electric with acoustic, lap-slide and steel-bodied resonator guitars. Next, Chris Finnen, an inductee into the New York Blues Hall of Fame, brings his band and his special brand of blues to the Adelaide Guitar Festival stage. Over a career spanning more than 50 years, Finnens restless musical curiosity has seen him enfold a tapestry of cultural influences into his sound, and his brilliant sensibility has seen him share the stage with the biggest names in blues the world over. His tireless commitment to music-making and strong sense of community make him a treasured gem of the South Australian music scene.
