It was a huge hit when it made its Australian debut in Adelaide in 2023 – selling-out every show to rave reviews – but this easter school holidays, DinoFest will up the ante with even more life-size, walking and interactive dinosaurs that are sure to excite.
South Australian families will be the first in the country to experience the amazing new DinoFest show to roar into action at Victoria Park for a special debut during the weekend of 5-6 April; and then continue throughout (most days of) the Easter school holidays, from 12-27 April 2025.
The ultimate prehistoric experience, DinoFest Adelaide will feature more than 30 awesome dinosaur species – including for the first time, a walking Spinosaurus and twin Pachycephalosaurus to-boot.
With an amazing new Dino Trail, life-size walking Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus and lots of cute baby dinosaurs, DinoFest Adelaide is a highly unique and interactive, outdoor experience-based event that is family friendly and especially designed for children aged nine and younger.
Specialising in Tyrannosaurs, DinoFest tells the story of how Tyrannosaurs grew from small dog-sized dinosaurs to become the world’s most fearsome predators over the course of 100 million years.
While T. Rex is understandably ‘king of show’, DinoFest will also showcase a range of other popular dinosaurs that attendees can touch, pat, and interact with in a way that is deliberately designed to engage young children as a magical and life-long memorable experience.
In addition to the thrill of a 45-minute Dinosaur Encounter and truly remarkable Dino Trail with a life-size T. Rex, the ultimate dinosaur experience also has a range of educational and highly engaging kids’ activities like a Dino Dig, themed arts and crafts, and ‘feel a fossil’ with real dinosaur bones.
DinoFest Founder, Laurence Taylor, says Victoria Park is an ideal setting for the revamped DinoFest experience given its extensive array of plants, tree shrubs and grasses.
“Not only is Victoria Park a great stomping ground for our dinos, but it is also great for families with FREE parking and nearby spaces for picnics and play before and after the show. It’s really the perfect place to transport our guests away from their devices and back to the Mesozoic era,” says Laurence Taylor.
“We were blown away by the enthusiasm of South Australians when we first launched DinoFest in Adelaide and now, the momentum has reached new levels of anticipation for this even bigger and better showing.
“A special interest in dinosaurs is recognised as a great way to get young children engaged in science. DinoFest is designed to be educational and bust some of the ‘myths’ created by Hollywood. We aim to inspire a true sense of awe in these beautiful, majestic animals who ruled the earth for tens of millions of years.
“We’ve genuinely considered family convenience, affordability and fun yet factuality as key elements of DinoFest,” adds Mr Taylor, who is himself a parent.
Families are strongly encouraged to pre-book online via Eventbrite as DinoFest will sell out faster than a Velociraptor can run!
Family and Group Admission tickets are available, with special discount fees for seniors and people with physical disability. A single ticket costs AUD $28 per adult and $26 per child, with FREE entry for children younger than two years.
