“Embrace Kids is a family film and suitable for children from ages 9-14 years of age. If children as young as 7-8 have been experiencing body image issues then they can be introduced to the film but if they have not the target age is 9-14.” – Embrace Kids Screening Coordinator, Jen.
Embrace Kids is an uplifting film by Taryn Brumfitt which brings together a vibrant collection of stories from young people and famous friends alike, who share their experiences about body image, bullying, gender identity, advocacy, representation and more.
This film aims to improve the body image of young people across Australia and the world. Aimed at an audience of 9-14 year olds, but equally engaging for adolescents, teachers, and parents, this film inspires, educates, and advocates for a world where we are not held back by the thoughts we have about the way we look. Instead, young people are encouraged to figure out what makes them unique and special, and use that to spark change.
If we sell more than 44 movie tickets (that would break even with cost of screening), all profits will be donated to PANDA, an organisation dear to one of our host’s hearts after helping her during a difficult pregnancy.
PANDA – Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia – supports the mental health of parents and families during pregnancy and in their first year of parenthood.
P.S. If you are able and comfortable to, could you pretty please RSVP “Going” to the public Facebook event below after you have purchased your tickets? This will help increase the number of people who see it and choose to join us, therefore increasing our chances of having a successful fundraiser as well as a fun night out!
