SUMMARY:Hayden James - Adelaide - Sat 22 Sept 2018
DESCRIPTION:Tickets on-sale 10am local time Wed 27 June from www.haydenjamesmusic.com \n_______________________________________________ \nHugely loved Sydney-based producer Hayden James\, has today revealed additional dates on his sold out “Just Friends” live tour for lucky fans in Adelaide and Auckland this September. Additionally\, those who managed to snag a ticket\, will welcome news Hayden will bring along young Brisbane rapper\, Carmouflage Rose and sultry disco duo Happiness is Wealth to spark dancefloors alight across the nation. \nThe newly announced dates see Hayden James pay a visit to Auckland for an appearance at Studio The Venue on Friday\, September 14 and a trip to Adelaide for a show at Bonython Hall on Saturday\, September 22. These dates join a string of unique sold out shows at Melbourne’s iconic Forum Theatre on September 7\, Perth’s Astor Theatre on September 8\, The Triffid in Brisbane on September 15 and Hayden’s home city on September 21 at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre. \nFollowing an epic US tour and festival run\, Hayden’s homecoming tour will be the world premiere of his new live show. Joining him on the six-date run of shows will be hotly tipped\, up-and-coming hip-hop artist Carmouflage Rose. Built on the influence of Kanye’s 808’s and Heartbreaks and the African drum and synths of his heritage\, his set will have you losing your inhibitions\, jumping front and centre and feeding off an endlessly energetic stage presence. \nJoining Carmouflage Rose is collaborative duo\, Surahn Sidhu and Omar Varts\, otherwise known as the multi-dimensional music project Happiness Is Wealth. Consistently striving to blur lines between music\, fashion and art\, Sidhu has worked with Australian music’s finest\, including Flight Facilities and Empire Of The Sun\, while Varts paved paths in the New York fashion scene. With over 10 years combined experience behind the decks\, the enigmatic pairing will bring a set that is as much disruptive as it is intuitive. \nThe September tour builds on what has been yet another impressive year for Hayden James\, with the recent release of his single “Just Friends”. The track is an infectious four-minutes of pitched-down soulful harmonies\, driving bass lines and direct vocals from Boy Matthews – all wrapped within Hayden’s signature twist of alluring momentum and rolling grooves. “Just Friends” follows on from the previous platinum-certified summer anthem\, “NUMB” featuring GRAACE which is a captivating arrangement of velvety vocals and crafty synthesisers. \nAfter busy stints in the studio\, finessing his own material and co-writing for the likes of Katy Perry\, Hayden will next gear up for a huge run of homecoming stage performances. Don’t miss witnessing his all new live show at some of Australia’s finest venues this September.

SUMMARY:Postmodern Jukebox - Adelaide Entertainment Centre
DESCRIPTION:POSTMODERN JUKEBOX ANNOUNCE 2018 AUSTRALIAN TOUR DATES \nBRINGING THEIR VINTAGE TWIST ON MODERN POP SONGS BACK TO FANS ACROSS THE COUNTRY \nAustralia loves Postmodern Jukebox! Following three successful tours in as many years\, the multi-talented collective will bring their re-imagined contemporary pop\, rock and R&B hits in the style of various yesteryears back to eagerly awaiting fans in 2018. \nPMJ’s Australian tour opens up in Perth on Friday 21 September\, and moves on to Adelaide on Saturday 22 September\, Brisbane on Sunday 23 September\, Gold Coast on Tuesday 25 September\, Melbourne on Wednesday 26 September\, Wollongong on Thursday 27 September\, Sydney on Friday 28 September and Canberra on Saturday 29 September before winding up in Newcastle on Sunday 30 September. \nTickets go on sale at 10am local time on Friday 9 February for the nine-city tour. \nEach time around\, PMJ looks forward to bringing their unique spin on modern pop hits and retro pop stylings to new cities for the first time\, as well as revisiting favourite haunts that welcome them back with eagerly open arms. And as any PMJ fan can tell you\, the experience is never the same twice\, with new songs\, new sounds\, and new members added to the ever-growing family each time around. \nSince Bradlee created the project in 2009\, PMJ has amassed more than 900 million YouTube views\nand 3.2 million subscribers\, chalked up more than 1 million likes on Facebook\, performed on “Good\nMorning America\,” topped iTunes and Billboard charts\, caught the attention of NPR Music and NBC\nNews\, and played hundreds of shows to sold-out houses around the world. \nThat seemingly exhausting pace hasn’t stopped Bradlee from arranging and recording new arrangements every week for PMJ’s legion of fans. \nImagine marrying the 21st century party vibe of Miley Cyrus or the minimalist angst of Radiohead with the crackly warmth of a vintage 78 or the plunger-muted barrelhouse howl of a forgotten Kansas City jazzman. Bradlee’s choice of material ranges from the ‘80s hard rock of Guns N’ Roses to hits as recent as 2015’s Justin Bieber plea “Sorry.” They’re rendered by a rotating cast of musicians and singers in fashions that date back to a time when Axl\, Slash and Bieber’s parents had yet to be born – a time of street corner harmonies and torch singers\, blues belters and golden-voiced crooners. \nLast year\, PMJ collected 18 favourites to compile The Essentials for Concord Records. The album featured the songs that Bradlee has called “most essential to the PMJ universe\,” including hits by Beyoncé\, the White Stripes\, Lorde\, Outkast and Maroon 5 – along with the song that put the band on the map\, a vaudevillian distressing of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop” fronted by Robyn Adele Anderson that garnered more than a million views within a week of being posted. The pin-up styled singer returned for the album’s opener\, their ‘50s doo-wop version of Miley Cyrus’ celebration of an inhibition-shedding spree\, “We Can’t Stop\,” which garnered more than 19.5 million views and was named one of the “9 Best Viral Cover Videos of 2015” by People magazine. \nPMJ has long since outgrown the cramped confines of Bradlee’s small apartment in Queens\, NY\, where the original videos were shot at a time when he was one of countless struggling musicians in the city\, to play some of the most heralded stages in the world. The spirit\, though\, has remained the same – a collective of musicians dedicated to the timelessness of music\, performing songs vibrantly and without a trace of irony. And the media has taken notice: Entertainment Weekly wrote\, “Scott Bradlee’s group is known for retro-fying modern hit songs into viral success\,” while Yahoo! Music added\, “if you’ve been on YouTube in the last couple of years\, then you’re familiar with the everything-new-is-old-again brilliance of the viral phenomenon known as Postmodern Jukebox.” \n“I take pride in putting together the right powers and personalities to create a unique and amazing experience for our fans\,” Bradlee says. “We want them to escape reality and join us for the most sensational 1920s party this side of The Great Gatsby. We want them to experience what it was like to be at the New Years’ Eve show that Sinatra would have hosted in the 1940s. We want them to feel the excitement of hearing the greats of Motown live and up close. Our goal is to give our audiences their favorite show again and again and still have it feel like the very first time.” \nTOUR DATES: \nPERTH Friday 21 September – Astor Theatre\nADELAIDE Saturday 22 September – AEC Theatre\nBRISBANE Sunday 23 September – The Tivoli\nGOLD COAST Tuesday 25 September – The Star\nMELBOURNE Wednesday 26 September – Palais Theatre\nWOLLONGONG Thursday 27 September – Anita’s Theatre\nSYDNEY Friday 28 September – State Theatre\nCANBERRA Saturday 29 September – Canberra Theatre\nNEWCASTLE Sunday 30 September – Civic Theatre \nGeneral public tickets on-sale date:\nFriday 9th February\, 10am local time from www.tegdainty.com \nVisit www.tegdainty.com.au for tour and ticket information.

SUMMARY:Hockey Dad - Join The Club Tour - Adelaide (SOLD OUT)
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS SOLD OUT \nAfter a huge first half of 2018\, Hockey Dad aren’t about to end the year quietly – announcing plans for home soil with their “Join The Club” National Tour. Currently in the midst of global touring – which has seen them sell-out shows in London\, New York\, Chicago\, Toronto\, Boston and more – the band will return to tackle headline dates in some of Australia’s biggest bandrooms this September/October. \nHockey Dad have also shared the new one-take video for the “Join The Club”\, filmed by Matthew Maule and directed by William Fleming\, where guitarist/vocalist Zach Stephenson cuts a lonely figure in a dimly-lit room\, performing a whisky-soaked karaoke rendition of the track. \nThe overwhelming (and sometimes floor-breaking) fan-enthusiasm for Hockey Dad has been no accident\, and is a testament to their ability to deliver both on record and in their notoriously high-energy shows. 2018 has already seen the band take out the 54th spot in the triple j Hottest 100 with “Homely Feeling”\, hit the ARIA charts as the #1 Australian and #6 overall release for second record Blend Inn\, immediately sell out a 14 date national album tour\, and become the most played artist on triple j for the year thus far. \nThis tour is the next chance for fans to witness best mates Billy Fleming and Zach Stephenson bring the charged riffs\, anthemic vocals and punk-style drums of Blend Inn to life. \nLimited edition 7″ vinyl of “Join The Club” will be available exclusively at these shows. \nBLEND INN – OUT NOW\nhttps://hockeydad.lnk.to/BlendInn

DESCRIPTION:Author Grahame Greene/Adapted by Clive Frances\nDirector Dave Simms \n PRESENTED BY STIRLING PLAYERS \n A hapless vacuum cleaner salesman gets sucked into a world of espionage in a murderously funny story told by 6 actors….and a vacuum cleaner! \n Jim Wormold\, an under-employed vacuum cleaner salesman living in 1950s Cuba is struggling to pay for his teenage daughter’s extravagant lifestyle.  So\, when the British Secret Service asks him to become their ‘man in Havana’ he can’t afford to say no. \nThere’s just one problem: he doesn’t know anything! \nTo avoid suspicion he beings to recruit non-existent sub-agents\, concocting a series of intricate fictions.  But Wormold soon discovers that his stories are closer to the truth than he could have ever imagined. \nIn Clive Francis’ adaptation\, Graham Greene’s classic\, satirical novel\, becomes a fast-moving romp\, giving our cast a licence to over-act!

SUMMARY:Kimberley Foundation Australia - lecture
DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of the Kimberley Foundation Australia’s 20th Anniversary and the 10th anniversary of the death of Grahame Walsh\, KFA tells the story of how the relatively unknown historic treasure that is Kimberley rock art has become the focus of major research by Australia’s leading archaeologists and scientists. Two multi-million dollar research projects involving 40+ researchers from all over the world\, along with traditional owners\, are collaborating on archaeological surveys. A pioneering Rock Art Dating project has the world watching… \nThe Kimberley Foundation Australia is unravelling a cultural tradition spanning 60\,000+ years. The Aboriginal rock art of Australia and the story it tells traces the history of global human migration. Revealing this story is the essence of our mission. It is Australia’s story. By unlocking the archives of the paleo environment and researching and dating the rock art we are learning how to conserve and protect this precious heritage and environment. \nAnd behind that story is another story waiting to be told. It is the story of the Foundation’s history. Who were the people involved? How did KFA create a model for funding research where the drivers are both the Aboriginal traditional custodians and the general public – all seeking to understand and protect the cultural and historic significance of this Indigenous legacy? Twenty years on more than 40 KFA-sponsored researchers are in the field working collaborating with traditional owners and involving more than a dozen universities and institutions. \nThere is no better person to tell this story than Maria Myers AC. Awarded a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2016 for the advancement of the understanding of Indigenous rock art and for her service to the community through philanthropic leadership\, Maria Myers has been Chairman of KFA for eight years. Her story started in 1994 when she met Grahame Walsh. Already a student of Aboriginal culture she was so inspired by his description of the living culture of the Kimberley and the rock art that she went to see it. She was hooked. \nIn 2001 Maria joined the KFA Board. The Foundation was already making historic headway with its founding principles of two-way understanding and two-way learning between traditional aboriginal Kimberley people and non–aboriginal people. In 2009 Maria was appointed Chairman. Today\, the Kimberley Foundation Australia is at the forefront of scientific research backed by philanthropists\, leading trusts and foundations and everyday Australians.
