The 3rd Annual Longest Run South Australia will be held on Sunday 27 June 2021.
This free event is back by popular demand.
Longest Run South Australia will allow runners to run *up to* 7 parkrun courses on (or close to) the shortest daylight day of the year (Winter Solstice).
There is absolutely *no* requirement to run all 7 parkruns… you can do any number. We will hold a poll closer to the time, asking you how many runs you’re planning on doing, so we can estimate numbers. Alternatively, you can just come for one of the meal breaks (see below). We strongly recommend car pooling where possible.
***All runs will be parkrun freedom runs. No official results will be sent and completed runs will not go towards your parkrun run counts***
Each event will run as follows:
– cones will be used to highlight the start/finish area. Other than that, there will be very minimal set up in terms of e.g. course marking.
– Before running each parkrun, a volunteer will explain the course to anyone who isn’t familiar with it.
– All runners will SELF TIME. Your times will not be recorded by volunteers. 50 minutes have been allowed for each parkrun to ensure we have enough time to get through all 7 courses and that we’re not running in the dark (dawn: 6.56am and dusk: 5.41pm)
– It would be great if runners could wait/cheer on the last runners before travelling to the next location
We’ve spent some time looking at the parkruns across South Australia and are proposing to have three ‘streams’:
Beaches
North
Hills
All three streams will meet at one of the locations, probably after midday, and complete the remaining runs together.
