SUMMARY:CloZee w/ Imagined Herbal Flows at Adelaide Hall
DESCRIPTION:CloZee and IHF\n10/4 at Adelaide Hall\nDoors are at 8PM.\n19+\nBuy your tickets at http://bit.ly/clozee-100418-tickets \nListen to CloZee on Spotify ➡️http://bit.ly/Spotify-CloZee \nIn a feedback loop of adventure\, music\, and love\, CloZee and her fans are ready to let the force of the sound carry everyone to places they have never been before. Being based simultaneously in Toulouse\, France and on stages across the world makes this electronic musician stand out. \nWith inspirations far afield from music – a painting\, the weather\, a dream – in her craft\, Chloé Herry’s derivations are difficult to trace. Under the broad structure of electronic and bass music\, and informed by sound the world over\, Clozee finds her best fit in World Bass’ corner. \nCloZee has performed on many continents: from Coachella to India\, on four US Tours\, and everywhere around her native France. She is a standout on the roster of her labels\, Gravitas Recordings & Otodayo Records. Followers in many languages drive streams counted in millions. But art’s ability to transport others is this talented producer’s special magic – manifest whenever someone presses play. \nIn the way the clean curve of a Japanese roof is understated and exotic\, CloZee pulls her power from a bold simplicity. Her classical guitar roots allow her an informed\, melodic space that draws influence from flamenco to edIT of The Glitch Mob. This melting pot of instrumentation and cinematic flair puts listeners in a mood to move\, with international crowds now cultivating the evolution of her genre. Chloé says she rarely lays down only electronic sounds. Her favorite sources are organic and real. \nTo describe her life\, CloZee grins and dramatizes her mind exploding. With traction growing stateside\, she is set to expand far beyond the transformational festivals and tours where she grew the same roots that nourished Bassnectar\, Beats Antique\, and Bonobo. CloZee is breaking through the canopy and into the sun. Come see her fly. \nWith support from: \nIHF\nhttp://bit.ly/Spotify-IHF\nhttps://soundcloud.com/ihfmusic

SUMMARY:dead legends @ the pub : PUBsing
DESCRIPTION:As the proverb from Zimbabwe tells us: “If you can walk you can dance and if you can talk you can sing.” \nAngela Sharp and Lisa Lanzi have long held this to be true and now\, once a month\, are taking their energy into a City of Adelaide watering hole (The Jade in Flinders Street). \nThese two women have worked within their artistic partnership BodySONG for 9 years sometimes co-directing up to nine inclusive community choirs each week.  They have run projects with women in prison\, women affected by homelessness\, those with mental health issues\, the frail and elderly\, those affected by dementia\, Parkinson’s Disease or stroke and disabled people. \nApart from their work together\, Angela is the Director of 2 outstanding community choirs: the all-female Allegria Absolutely (who just celebrated their 10th birthday) and In Good Company\, a mixed gender group.  She also runs shorter choir projects from time to time (more information and opportunities available on the BodySONG Facebook page).  Lisa is a former professional dancer and trained actor who does project work locally and internationally as an actor\, director and choreographer as well as relief lecturer in movement for actors at Adelaide College of the Arts and running other community dance projects. \nPUBsing has been on the to-do list for over a year but with other projects at full steam and the need to look for an appropriate venue\, Lisa and Ange have just launched at The Jade on May 1st with 100 people turning up to take part in the fun.  Hereafter\, on the first Tuesday of the month\, PUBsing will fill the space on Flinders St with harmony and a song from a legend of popular music who has departed this world.  The first song was ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ from the awe-inspiring Freddie Mercury but you have to stay tuned to Facebook to find out what the song will be each month.  (Search PUBsing on Facebook and you’ll find the information – it is a public page so you don’t have to be a member.) \nIn 75 minutes (with a few *drink* breaks) Lisa and Ange teach you the featured song and harmonies with Rob Andrew on guitar.  Lyrics are projected on screen and no preparation is needed\, just a willingness to sing out and have fun. You are among friends (even if you have just met them!)\, have a drink in hand if you wish AND it’s not just about the singing.  There is a spirit of camaraderie and delight in the room so if you have only ever been a secret shower-singer or someone who always thought they COULDN’T sing then this is the activity for you.  There is no pressure to sing harmony as there is always the melody to fall back on.  However\, if you are more experienced\, you can soak up the harmony and sing with full voice.  Being in a group of like-minded humans and singing in harmony is one of those special life-moments and great for people who don’t have time to commit to a weekly choir rehearsal and all the performances.

SUMMARY:Going Deep – Galaxies & Other Faint Objects
DESCRIPTION:Paul Haese\nAstronomical Society of South Australia \nAbstract: This presentation will look at several well known galaxies and faint planetary nebula halos. It will provide information about discovery\, brightness and demonstrations of how much integration is needed to show faint halos and very distant galaxies. You will be able to see how persistence can be rewarding to your imaging pursuits. This will include how amateurs can contribute to discovery by imaging these faint objects. \nBio: Paul Haese is a multi award winning astrophotographer; with wins internationally and domestically. He has been photographing objects in the night sky since the mid 1980s and as such has accumulated a wealth of experience and knowledge with many aspects of astrophotography. Paul owns two remotely operated imaging observatories which are in use on every clear night\, so as to maximise collection of data on the many objects he images each year. Paul is currently involved in two research programmes; JUPOS (imaging Jupiter) and the other a search for very faint undiscovered halos around dying stars. He has already had one independent co-discovery of a halo and is awaiting confirmation of another at this point in time. He has served in various positions on the council however is currently both the President and Instruments Officer of the Astronomical Society of South Australia. \nFree – visitors welcome \nSecurity locks doors at 8pm sharp – no entry beyond this time \nFor further information visit: http://www.assa.org.au/ or contact the Publicity Officer on: 0402 079 578 or at starmanzone@adam.com.au

SUMMARY:Adelaide - (All Ages) The Bennies\, Gooch Palms & Young Offenders
DESCRIPTION:pool house records presents\nTHE BENNIES\nwith GOOCH PALMS & YOUNG OFFENDERS \nThursday July 5th\n@ Adelaide Uni Bar\, Adelaide \nTickets on sale from Oztix – https://goo.gl/DExz5M \n————————————–\nAll-round legends The Bennies will be taking their pumping new album Natural Born Chillers around the country next month\, continuing their reign of taking 2018 as their own. The 11 date run will see the four-piece take to regional and metro hotspots across five states including VIC\, NSW\, QLD\, SA and TAS. \nThe Bennies kicked off their year in fine form with the release of their new album — which came out on The Smith Street Band’s revered label Pool House Records — in February. The eight-track\nbelter was quickly picked up as Album Of The Week by The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald and garnered a massive 9/10 rating from Melbourne street press\, Beat Magazine. \nFollowing the release\, the band enjoyed slots at St. Kilda Festival\, the inaugural Pool House Party as well as the tenth anniversary of The Hills Are Alive. These would be the last performances for\ndeparting bassist Craig Selak after nine years with the group\, although The Bennies would assure party levels remained at an all time high with the recruitment of Nicholas Williams of Foxtrot on bass duties. \nFresh blood in the mix and their brand new album at the ready\, The Bennies then took to Europe and The UK. With 30 shows in 32 days The Bennies have been showcasing their blistering live act to huge crowds at festivals such as Uncle M Fest and Antattack in Germany and Austria’s SBÄM Festival as well as playing to hundreds at their first London headline show. \nUpon their return The Bennies are geared to keep it all going during their home country tour and have locked in an unfathomably sweet selection of supports to help them do so. Punk-rock duo The\nGooch Palms are set to come along for the ride\, who are known for their gloriously noisy and gritty guitar fare and energetic live presence. Meanwhile rapidly up-and- coming indie punk-rockers from Adelaide\, Young Offenders\, will also join the festivities.
