No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability celebrates their 30th anniversary year with their Retrospective Exhibition at The Flour Shed, Hart’s Mill in Port Adelaide.

Take a walk through a collection of highlights showcasing three decades of groundbreaking work and creative expression, open each weekend from July 27 – August 18.

The exhibition is open 10am-3pm weekends with a gold coin entry. A series of special events will also be taking place each weekend with a $5 entry at the door or book via the link below:

Saturday 27 July/Sunday 28 July – Low Sensory Access Weekend

Saturday 3 August – Official Opening: 3pm Performance of FIRE from ‘Floods of Fire’, Adelaide Festival.

Join us for the official opening of our 30 Year Retrospective Exhibition to be officiated by City of Port Adelaide Enfield Mayor Claire Boan and special guests including Dr. PJ Rose, former Artistic Director of No Strings, and Leonie Ebert-Smith, Founder of the Graham F Smith Peace Foundation Inc joining us. They will delve into the profound impact of art on peace and community, and the foundational building blocks that have made No Strings FEARLESS. LIMITLESS. BOUNDLESS. They will be joined on a panel by some of the No Strings performers.

Sunday 4 August – 3pm Screening of Tom the loneliest (2009)

A dark comedy, Tom the loneliest confronts isolation, depression, medication, psychosis, domestic violence, addiction, and the disempowerment of modern masculinity with disturbing irreverence that is a constant in the world of the Toms.

Saturday 10 August – 3pm Performance by No Strings News Crew

Capturing all the action, join Karl Lienert (reporter), Naomi Matson (camera), and Rebecca Meston (producer) as they conduct some “hard-hitting reporting” live from our 30 Year Retrospective Exhibition.

Sunday 11 August 3pm – Screening of Sons & Mothers documentary (2012)

Sons & Mothers is quality drama that comes from the heart. Premiering at the 2012 Adelaide Fringe Festival, Sons & Mothers not only sold out during its 16-performance run, it also took out top Fringe awards including “Best Theatre Production” and “Best in Fringe”. See the multi-award-winning doco by POP Pictures, featured on ABC’s Australian Story.

Saturday 17 August – 3pm Screening of My Stories Matter (2023)

An experimental and innovative fictional documentary directed by Paulo Castro, in partnership with multi-award-winning SA production team, House of Spaghetti.

Sunday 18 August – Official Closing: 3pm Performance of Security (2024)

To close our exhibition season, we will explore some of the challenges of people with intellectual disability undertaking tertiary studies. Speakers to include Rachel High (the first person in Australia with Down Syndrome to graduate university); Professor Sally Robinson (Flinders University); and other special guests.
