Looking to revamp your wardrobe and want to do it guilt-free?
Swapping your clothes is more sustainable than donating them to charities because your clothes can almost instantly find a new home!
Large charity organisations often end up discarding the majority of their clothing donations and it just ends up in landfill…
HOW IT WORKS:
Simply gather a minimum of 10-20 pieces of clothing which are in good, wearable condition (consider items you would give to your friends or family) the more you bring along the better!
Simply gather a minimum of 10-20 pieces of clothing which are in good, wearable condition (consider items you would give to your friends or family) the more you bring along the better!
Between 11am and 6pm bring your items into the Big Blue Shed (230-232 Flinders Street) along with a $5 donation, and pick up some fresh clothing for yourself to take home!
There is no limit to what you can take home, but please consider others, take home only what you will gain wear out of, it’s only right that everybody has a fair chance at finding some awesome new garms. The point is to recycle and reuse, rather than having more unworn items sitting in your wardrobe.
The clothes swap is not a dumping ground for stained, ripped, unwearable clothing, consider the items you would give to your family and friends.
At the end of the swap, the remaining clothing will be donated to the Mosh On Youth Center, located King William Street, Adelaide.
Accepted items for swapping: both ladies and men’s clothing – tops, T-shirts, pants, jackets, sweaters, dresses, skirts, shirts, blouses, crop tops, bralettes, leather, denim, knitwear, blazers, coats, shorts, bodysuits, play-suits, jumpsuits, vests, leggings, sportswear, hats, bags, purses, shoes, jewelry, scarves, belts
Excluded items include formal wear, underwear, socks, babies clothing and children’s wear.
Items deemed unfit for resale will be donated to Southern Cross Recycling who process unwanted fabrics into rags, insulation, pet bedding etc
