Swords is pleased to host an inter-club social mixed teams tournament while we have a one-off Friday night at the North Adelaide Community Centre. We’ve invited AHFC and CSFC due to limitations on numbers we can have.
In the spirit of the AHFC’s Golden Gauntlet, and for a fun celebration after the COVID restrictions, we’re calling it The Golden Frog — as the winning team will be awarded a Haigh’s Chocolate Frog (that you eat… it’s not perpetual). After fencing, please join us for a drink at the Royal Oak Hotel, just around the corner on O’Connell St.
Date and time: Friday, August 7, 6.30 for a prompt start. Finish 9.30pm
Location: North Adelaide Community Centre, 176 Tynte St, N. Adelaide
Entry: Free
Prize: A frog made from chocolate.
Teams: Mixed teams made up of three fencers and a fourth sub ideally with at least one female, one veteran and/or U23 or Open A/B. An extra fencer can be nominated in case someone is unavailable on the night.
Hits: 45 Hit relay (teams of 3 +1 sub).
Referees: Please nominate a referee for one or two bouts.
Fencers must have their own gear, preferably Level 1 and a current licence.
Please nominate your team by Tuesday, August 4.
Everyone is welcome, however, our space has a limit of 45 people which should be fine. We are unable to offer food but there are restaurants nearby for takeaway and that can be eaten outside the hall. There will be a second piste available for casual fencing for anyone not in a team or kids.
