The Music Man arrives at The Arts Theatre this July, for a strictly limited season. Don’t miss your chance to see this joyous musical from the Golden Age of Broadway!
ABOUT THE SHOW
Set in 1912, The Music Man follows fast-talking travelling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the townspeople of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a kids’ band that he vows to organise – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian Paroo, the headstrong town librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.
Winner of five Tony Awards and featuring iconic songs such as “Seventy-Six Trombones” and “Ya Got Trouble” (as well as “Till There Was You”, as made famous by The Beatles!), this classic tale of love, laughter and redemption will have you tapping your feet and singing along.
