FIRST-EVER MINI-ME MARKET GIVES PARENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SELL PRE-LOVED CHILDRENSWEAR THIS JULY

Pre-loved clothing for children up to five years of age will be the focus of new sustainable shopping initiative; Mini-Me Market.

From Sunday, 14th until Sunday, 21st July, Mini-Me Market will take over event space, Fettle, at Stepney, selling everything from booties and jumpsuits to dresses and beanies.

For both weekend adventurers, spicy margaritas and light feeds will be on offer to make it a Sunday out for parents who choose to leave the little ones at home.

Mini-Me Market Co-Founder, Eli Doyle, who runs maternity dress hire business, Plus One Dress Hire, says her own parenting experiences were behind the idea.

“There are so many parents who get too many clothes as gifts that they just sometimes don’t get around to using, or even just have things that their kids wear only once and are still in great condition,” Eli says. “It’s not always the case they can forward them onto friends or relatives who might need them, so this is a great opportunity for parents to sell them to benefit others.”

“Mini-Me Market is also a great opportunity for those who enjoy sustainable shopping to see what’s on offer and find some unique pieces for their kids,” says Eli.

With free entry, the eight-day run will see Mini-Me Market open from 10am to 4pm on all days except Thursday, 18th July with a late night close of 8pm. Fettle will serve up toasties and pastries for snacks, as well as Dawn Patrol coffee and the popular margaritas for over eighteens.

Shoppers are encouraged to enjoy Fettle’s offerings in making the event a time to catch up with fellow parents or simply relax. Eli says there’s also an opportunity to visit fellow businesses such as the popular Lune Bar and Eatery nearby.

“There are wonderful businesses we can support around the Stepney and Norwood area – parents should visit Mini-Me Market as part of an outing where they can tick something new off their list and have fun doing it,” Eli says.

For those wanting to sell clothing, a rack can be rented for $99 across the market’s operation. Sellers can choose pricing for all garments. There are no refunds and payment is required up front.

Mini-Me Market will be held from July 14-21 at Fettle – 4/57 MagillRoad, Stepney.
