Fringe Review – Florian Wild’s Midnight Rodeo

Saddle up for a rowdy ride as Midnight Rodeo storms into the Adelaide Fringe, delivering a night of cabaret chaos. With the effervescent Florian Wild at the helm, this variety show embraces its wild-west theme in a blend of circus, burlesque, comedy and pure queer joy — all with its tongue firmly in cheek.

Florian Wild is the undeniable star of the evening — one to keep an eye on in Fringe seasons to come. The face is beat, the outfits are impeccable and the vocals are a knockout. They command the stage with an effortless charm as they move the show along at a whip-crack pace, keeping the energy high and the crowd strapped in for the ride.

The lineup is an eclectic mix of the good, the bad and the fabulous with every night offering a new experience. This edition offered a hilarious set by comedian Courtney Maldo and a sultry chair routine by Winter Greene, followed by a humorous burlesque performance filled with bubbles by Dominica De La Muerte and a gravity-defying aerial act by the charismatic Lachlan MacDonald. Each performer brought their own brand of daring mischief that was captivating and delightfully unruly.

Above all, Midnight Rodeo celebrates freedom, flamboyance and fearless performance. It’s cheeky, bold and wonderfully unpredictable. If you have a fistful of dollars to spare, take a bet on Florian Wild and their raucous lineup of performers.
