Gingzilla

They say first impressions last and there is no doubt that Gingzilla leaves a lasting first impression. She’s as beautiful as she is tall and as talented as the fireball red of her hair. With contouring that Kim Kardashian would be jealous of, Gingzilla is back for the 2018 Fringe, blessing us with her show GINGZILLA: Gamonster vs THE WORLD. Set in a parodic 1950’s world, the audience is taken on the journey of a housewife wanting to break out of the chains of her unglamorous and dull life.

Supported by a montage of vintage film clips, witty dialogue and modern musical interludes, Gingzilla is as mesmerising as it is provocative and titillating. This show is nothing short of engaging – and you are engaged, from the moment you arrive at the venue to the very last note with audience participation instrumental in creating side splitting moments.

As with all true cabarets, there is a sing-a-long, more singing, some dancing and very enthusiastic clapping – and that was just all of us in the audience.

The highlight for me was the soulful rendition of a chart topping White Stripes song which would be top of my play list if I could get it on Spotify.
