This Saturday, 20th April, celebrate Record Store Day (RSD) [1] at Gordy Boy Records in Adelaide Arcade [2].
With extended opening hours 8:00am-9:00pm to ensure avid record collectors can get their hands on a range of RSD 2024 titles along with new and seasoned RSD titles from yesteryear available.
To celebrate visitors have the chance to meet and greet the one and only Gordon Bennet, the 8-year old Schnauzer of Gordy Boy Records fame, enjoy RSD branded cupcakes and shop super discounts on new and second hand LP’s. There will also be an in-store quiz competition on the day where successful entrants go into the draw for a $100 Gordy Boy Records voucher.
Record Store Day is a global initiative and is dedicated to honouring the individuals who contribute to the vibrant community of independent (brick and mortar) record stores: the dedicated staff, loyal customers, and talented artists. It’s a time for these stakeholders to unite and commemorate the distinctive culture of record stores, recognising the invaluable role that independently owned establishments play within their communities.
Each year a list of titles [3]are available to be purchased from select and participating independent record stores.
