Hurley Hotel Group Unveils Brand New Cellars at the Marion Hotel

The first stage of Marion Hotels’ expansive renovations is now complete, with the opening of the Hurley Cellars. Featuring a three-lane drive through, temperature-controlled wine room, walk-in cool room and delivery service, the Hurley Hotel Group have invested over $1 million into the impressive new cellars.

The Hurley Cellars has been designed to reflect a modern and contemporary feel, with elements of industrial chic and recycled materials throughout. At the heart of the cellars is a stunning Red Gum timber tasting table, which will provide weekly tastings of some of the best South Australian wines, craft beers and local spirits.

The Hurley Cellars feature more than 600 South Australian wines including 400 South Australian reds and 200 white varietals. The Hurley Cellars also stock over 26 South Australian gins including Never Never, Prohibition, Twenty Third Street Distillery and Antipodes.

In addition to their expansive range and weekly tastings, the Marion Hotel will host a calendar of collaborative food events in the Hurley Cellars and within the hotel, to launch to the public in October. Partnering with some of South Australia’s most celebrated brands, Head Chef Dave Pedro will deliver tailored food menus to perfectly partner with the supplier’s range, with each event created to appeal to a different demographic.

“We want to throw away the ‘cookie cutter’ approach to food and wine functions by creating a calendar of unique events ranging from intimate degustation dinners to larger supplier showcases,” says Hurley Hotel Group Marketing Manager, Elly Deegan.

“Our new Cellars is full of exclusive and exciting products from some of the state’s best wine, beer and spirit makers which we are excited to collaborate with in the future. Our food menus will complement the supplier’s products and vice versa. Following trends from the soon to launch Marion Hotel menu, guests can expect to see Yoder Smoked dishes, fresh seafood and plant-based dishes making an appearance on these specialty menus.”

The next stage of the $20 million Marion Hotel redevelopment will be the launch of The Garden, Marion Hotel’s expansive dining and entertainment area, with the accommodation rooms set to be complete by August. An official launch of the new-look Marion Hotel will take place in September.

Marion Hotel is located at 849 Marion Road, Mitchell Park and the Hurley Cellars are open seven days a week, until late. For more information, visit: www.marionhotel.com.au.
