This September, the historic Adelaide Arcade will come alive with colour, creativity and imagination as Little Picassos Art Studios marks its 20th anniversary with a spectacular celebration of student artwork. From Friday, 26th September 2025, more than 600 original pieces created by young artists from Little Picassos’ four studios will be exhibited throughout the Arcade, transforming the beloved shopping precinct into a vibrant, gallery-style experience.
Founded in 2005, Little Picassos has spent two decades nurturing creativity and celebrating the artist in every child. With professional instruction in drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media, the studios have become a cornerstone of visual arts education for children across South Australia.
For Founder, Janine Boyd, the exhibition is a moment to reflect on the journey of Little Picassos and the many children who have grown creatively within its studios.
“This milestone is not just about celebrating 20 years in business, it’s about recognising the incredible creativity and imagination of thousands of children who have passed through our studios,” says Janine. “We believe every child is an artist, and this exhibition is a vibrant testament to that belief.”
The Spring Art Exhibition will showcase artworks spanning a wide variety of styles and spring themes, reflecting the diverse range of young artists who call Little Picassos their creative home. Artworks will be displayed throughout the Arcade’s middle walkway, alcoves and upper gallery, creating an accessible and immersive experience in the heart of the city Adelaide Arcade General Manager, Andrew Jonats, says “Adelaide Arcade has a rich history of celebrating art and creativity through the many artisans, designers and unique businesses that call the Arcade home. “This exhibition continues that tradition, transforming our spaces
into an accessible gallery that showcases the incredible imagination of South Australia’s youngest artists,” says Andrew.
Renew Adelaide, a driving force behind the renewal of Adelaide’s retail and cultural landscape by connecting unique ventures with brick-and-mortar spaces, has been instrumental in bringing this celebration to life.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, Renew Adelaide is partnering with Little Picassos to present the exhibition and host a special launch event on the opening night, bringing together families whose children have artwork on display.
“By teaching our city’s youngest creative minds to value and connect with art from a young age, Little Picassos are helping to shape the future of the arts in Adelaide,” says Renew Adelaide CEO, Gianna Murphy. “We’re delighted to support this wonderful community in celebrating their 20th anniversary in beautiful Adelaide Arcade.”
This exhibition runs until Monday, 27th October 2025 and is free and open to the public.
