A bright winter awaits at Glenelg’s Marina Pier with the return of the popular family-friendly event Umbrella Lights across June to September.
The light installation’s 2024 season has been switched on for a third year and will be joined by some great retail and hospitality offers, enticing people to Adelaide’s beautiful coastline in the cooler months.
Jason Makris, CEO Makris Group, says “The Umbrella light installation at Marina Pier elevates it’s winter evening atmosphere, enchanting the waterfront dining experience under the captivating ambiance it creates.”
The Umbrella Lights display features 14 umbrella-shaped light displays with cool white lighting for the frame and glowing blue lights that fill in as colour.
Ellenika restaurant is one of multiple venues offering specials across the Umbrella Lights period, including $6 ouzo shots every Friday in June, live bouzouki music every Saturday night and complimentary glasses of Ellenika Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc with main meals, banquets or platter orders (across Monday to Thursday during June).
Ellenika Owner Georgina Vasilevski says quieter times of year can make for the best dining experiences.
“During the winter months, people at our restaurant easily get a more intimate experience,” says Georgina.
In August, Seafire on the Marina will host their Yalumba Rare and Fine Dinner in its mezzanine space to celebrate the winery’s 175-year history.
Yalumba head winemaker Sam Wigan will host the four-course dinner priced at $270 per ticket, showcasing the Rare and Fine collection’s seven varietals on Thursday 29 August.
Umbrella Lights at Marina Pier ends Tuesday 3 September 2024.
