New West End bar, High Spirits, has fast become one of Adelaide’s premier hotspots for extravagant cocktails and tropical vibes.
The Tiki-inspired modern venue took over the 1890’s Quelltaler House in December and owner, Jamie Tierney, says bar-goers have embraced the eclectic setting.
“We’ve seen a lot of people really appreciate what we’re offering at High Spirits,” Jamie says.
“This is a culmination of love and passion for cocktails and providing a really great time with multiple seating options and an extensive cocktail list.”
Luxe group booths upstairs make for a more intimate setting, while the bar on entry is filled with a mix of curious explorers and the after-work crowd.
Cocktails available are a mix of classic and modern varieties, where nothing is off-limits. Dry ice and fire are commonly seen at the bar, intended to excite as bartenders show off their drink-making talents.
Jamie’s hospitality experience in fine dining meant High Spirits was never going to be anything other than a dynamic setting.
With hip hop beats setting the tone, High Spirits brings a relaxed vibe quite welcome in the small pocket of bars off Hindley and King William streets.
Tucked away from the busy hustle of the city’s streets, the bar makes its guests feel its name. Keeping drinkers in high spirits is their inspiration to continue doing great things.
High Spirits has alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available, and is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 6:00pm to late, at 20 Gilbert Place, Adelaide.
