Review: Paul Dabek – Encore! ★★★★★
Paul is definitely not your average fringe performer. He’s a little bit magician, little bit comedian & a whole lot of naughty, belly-slapping fun!
This was my first fringe show for 2018 & what way to kick start the season. Having never seen one of Paul’s shows before, I was unsure what to expect but he definitely spoke my language with an abundance of dad jokes, politically incorrect humour & some physical comedy thrown in to boot.
Paul plays homage to some of your more classic magician tricks that involve cards & ropes, but he is able to put his own personal spin on it keeping the audience captivated & mesmerised.
He has an interesting segment in his show involving cheese, to the point where I won’t be able to look at Babybel the same again! All set to some elevator music that is just so cheesy it is somehow works & becomes actually cool!
Paul is high energy & entertaining for the whole show, leaving no dull moments. Don’t arrive late or leave early for a toilet break as you just might find yourself unexpectedly part of the zany world of Paul Dabek – although there is probably no other place you would rather be!
