Adelaide’s favourite late-night haunt, Propaganda Club, has been revamped into Propaganda, a relaxed dining venue that is quickly becoming this season’s hottest eatery and round-the-clock hangout.
Previously only open select hours, the ‘supper club’ has undergone a major makeover of its food and cocktail menus, maximising the potential of the Grenfell Street venue and opening its doors to a wider audience.
The new vision heralds from a desire to make Propaganda more accessible to the raft of city workers looking for a new local for business lunches, Friday afternoon drinks and relaxed dining.
As a reflection of the fresh direction, the Propaganda team have tweaked their interiors, opening hours and drink selection, with the key change coming from a pioneering new menu.
Head Chef, Jon Kimber, is the driving force behind the range of moreish new food offerings. Having worked at top restaurants including Scott Borg’s The Smith in Melbourne and George’s on Waymouth, Jon’s years of culinary experience have come together to curate a menu that is reflective of his distinctive creativity, passion and flair for flavour.
“Our food philosophy is all about experience – creating simple, flavoursome dishes designed for sharing, and paired perfectly with our premium selection of craft beers, local wines and creative cocktails,” says Jon Kimber.
“I describe the new menu as modern Australian with an Asian twist – think a casual spin on classic dishes that offer something for everyone. From hearty pasta, to flawlessly seared steaks and handmade dumplings bursting with flavour, we have catered for all tastes!”
Standout dishes include the inspired wagyu beef and kimchi slider, sumptuous softshell crab taco and 36-degree beef porterhouse with fermented black bean and spring onion dressing. For dessert, the sago with lemon sorbet, mango puree and berries is an unmissable sweet treat for the warmer months.
No visit to the new Propaganda would be complete without a taste of their signature cocktails. Among crowd-favourite house cocktails, Propaganda’s expert mixologists have created a range of exclusive blends that are designed to be enjoyed alongside the five-for-$20 yum-cha offerings, or on their own as a delicious weekend celebration.
With mixes ranging from the soft and fruity ‘Dear Daisy, I Hate You’ (with White Rum, Soursob and Sweet Alyssum) and punchy ‘Harper’s History’ (featuring Gold Rum, Sweet Vermouth and Apple and Blackcurrant), Propaganda’s Specialty Cocktails are a must-try.
In celebration of their Grand Opening, Propaganda will be offering a $20 lunch special and knock-off promotions featuring $6 pints, $7 wines and the cocktail of the week for just $12, during 4pm and 7pm.
With live DJs on Friday and Saturday nights, and the Propaganda Laneway open for an alfresco experience throughout Summer, the new Propaganda is the place to be throughout the warmer months and beyond.
Now open 7am – late most days, Propaganda is perfect for every long lunch, casual dinner, after work drinks or late-night cocktails. Propaganda can be found at 110 Grenfell St, Adelaide.
