Review: Marcel Blanch-de Wilt: Love + Cordial

Show Date: 06/03/2018
Rating: ✮✮✮✮
Marcel Blanch-de Wilt was born to be a performer. With a penchant for stand-up comedy, Blanch-de Wilt’s show is a hilarious take on his break up period from his (now wife) then girlfriend Ele.
Seamless in engaging with the audience and poking fun at himself, Marcel takes us all on a journey through the funnier and more embarrassing milestones in his life – right from his childhood to the current day. And while it might feel wrong to laugh at some of the misfortunes, how else do you deal with a roller coaster ride that just isn’t going your way, apart from bringing a humorous perspective to the mix?
The audience members were having a field day (or night, shall I say?) as Marcel narrated (in no specific order at all) about the ways in which he and Ele were so different and yet seemed to fit together perfectly – like pieces in a puzzle.
It’s an endearing, entertaining, and exhilarating piece of comedy that intertwines strong feelings, yearnings, and real life experiences that are far too relatable to anyone who has ever attempted dating and f**ked up at some point!
Marcel’s show will be playing at the Cranny at the Producers Bar on Grenfell till the end of the Adelaide Fringe season – so grab a friend, a partner, a pal, or simply go by yourself and prepare for a wholesome hour of Marcel’s showmanship take centre stage through his raw narrative on how he wins his wife back into his life for the long run!
