SMASH BURGERS DONE RIGHT: BANK STREET BURGER NOW SERVING ADELAIDE

Bold flavours, fast service and a stripped-back menu define Adelaide’s newest smash burger spot: Bank Street Burger.

From the team behind Bank Street Social comes an American-style burger bar that brings new energy to the corner of Bank and Hindley streets. The venue opened recently in June 2025 and is already making its mark in the heart of the city’s buzzing food precinct.

Co-owner, Simon Orders, says the concept is all about doing one thing, and doing it well. “Every detail – from our house-made pickles to the signature sauce – has been dialled in, tested, and perfected for maximum flavour,” says Simon.

The menu is deliberately tight with a choice from three burgers and a side of fries; everything is cooked fresh to order and served in under five minutes.

“The hero ingredient? Premium Riverina Black Angus beef, ground on-site daily and smashed on a flat-top griddle to create a crisp, caramelised crust and rich, umami-loaded bite,” says Simon.

Options include the Classic – a double patty stacked with American cheese, tomato, lettuce, and signature sauce. The Original swaps the salad for house pickles and rich, sherry-glazed onions. And rounding out the lineup is the Cheeseburger – an unapologetically classic American-style burger with a single patty, American cheese, fresh onion, ketchup and mustard.

The venue itself is a compact hole-in-the-wall, most of it devoted to the high-spec kitchen. But the fit-out tells another story: red marble counters, Tasmanian oak and deep burgundy zellige tiles bring an unexpected warmth and polish – more wine bar than takeaway joint. A handful of outdoor seats offer a chance to linger, but the burgers tend to disappear fast.

Located next door to Bank Street Social at 48 Hindley Street, Adelaide, Bank Street Burger trades Wednesday to Saturday, with late-night hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Perfect for a quick bite before a night out or a late-night craving.
