Dirty Days

Bicycle SA has partnered with Forestry SA to deliver this mountain bike series featuring three of the state’s fantastic forests in the Adelaide hills.

The Dirty Days three ride series increases in difficulty over the series to help you improve your mountain bike skill level and fitness. Each ride day has three different route lengths which means you will be able to choose the distance that suits your level of fitness. Participants are welcome to take part in the complete series or come along to individual Dirty Days events.

It’s really easy to get involved in Dirty Days, you really only have to get there, cycle and go home again. The routes are all marked and signed so you won’t get lost and the longer routes have a rest stop with refreshments available so you don’t need to worry about carrying food or a bucket load of water. We also have mechanical support which can be called out to your location if you run into mechanical problems.

We’d love to see more kids on bikes so we also have Family routes which will be a good test and a taste of mountain biking for the younger ones in the family.

DATES:

Sunday, July 1 – Mt Crawford Forest

Sunday, August 12 – Kuitpo Forest

Sunday, September 16 – Cudlee Creek Forest

Lucid Dreaming Workshop – Learn Lucid Dreaming!

Imagine being able to fly, explore fantastic dream worlds, or have virtually any other experience you can think of! We spend about 2 hours each night having vivid life-like experiences in our dreams, but for most of this time we wander around mindlessly, unaware of what’s happening. That’s an average of 6 years in a typical lifespan! But when we learn how to realise that we’re dreaming while we’re still dreaming – when we learn how to have lucid dreams – we can control our dreams and make the most of their vast potential. In this five-hour interactive workshop presented by lucid dreaming scientist and teacher Dr Denholm Aspy, you’ll hear about the latest in lucid dreaming science, learn effective evidence-based techniques for inducing, prolonging and controlling lucid dreams, and learn how to use lucid dreaming for overcoming nightmares, creative inspiration, improving skills and abilities, and more. You’ll get to connect with like-minded lucid dreamers, participate in a range of lucid dreaming training exercises, and you’ll have a chance to ask anything you want about lucid dreaming in an open Q&A discussion session at the end.

Included in the ticket price, you’ll also receive:

  • Personal dream journal for recording and getting to know your dreams
  • “Reality test” bracelet (useful for one of the techniques you’ll be learning)
  • Written instructions for the techniques you’ll learn in the workshop
  • Note book and pen
  • Copy of Dr Denholm Aspy’s latest scientific paper, the National Australian Lucid Dream Induction Study, so you can see for yourself the research behind the techniques you’ll be learning
  • Certificate of Attendance

This five-hour workshop is suited to beginners and advanced lucid dreamers alike. It will be held in the Noel Lothian Hall within the beautiful Adelaide Botanic Gardens in the heart of Adelaide. The workshop schedule includes a lunch break and a variety of food and drink options will be available for purchase from the nearby Botanic Gardens Restaurant, the Simpson Kiosk, and Café Fibonacci within the botanic gardens. Free all-day parking is available nearby on Plane Tree Drive. Participants will be sent a map via email in the week leading up to the event.

*** Limited Early Bird Discount tickets available until sold out! ***

This workshop will introduce you to the following key concepts:

– When to suspect there may be an issue with your thyroid.

– How to find out for sure.

– Understanding what’s causing the issue.
