MARION ART GROUP MEETS SALA

Marion Art Group is holding an art exhibition EVERY SUNDAY IN AUGUST from midday to 4pm at the Marino Community Hall, 44 Newland Ave., Marino. There is a fantastic selection of framed, unframed and miniature paintings for sale. Devonshire tea available for $5. Painting demonstrations throughout the afternoon. Tjungu Pakani – Music Workshop

Part of the acclaimed multi-lingual Central Australian Womens’ Choir, the Titjikala Womens’ Choir enjoys a rich choral tradition that celebrates their traditional and Lutheran heritage through performance in Pitjantjatjara. In this workshop, the Titjikala women will instruct participants on how to sing various choir songs in Pitjantjatjara.

The workshop is held as part of ‘Tjungu Pakani: Together We Rise’ – a series of workshops held by the Titjikala Women’s Choir, culminating in a performance at the opening of an exhibition at the Ayers House Museum to celebrate cultural diversity.

Tjungu Pakani – Traditional Silk Batik Workshop

The women of Titjikala, an Indigenous community in the Northern Territory, are acclaimed for their unique silk Batik practice. This Sunday, along with artists from ‘The Art Bus’, the Titjikala women are holding two Batik Workshops where you can learn their techniques and experience this rich cultural art form firsthand.

Ticket cost includes all materials.

The workshop is held as part of  the SALA 2018 festival, and in relation to other Tjungu Pakani workshops, culminating in a performance by the Titjikala Women’s Choir and the opening of an exhibition at the Ayers House Museum to celebrate cultural diversity.

SALA The Art of Winemaking – The Resurrection

Richard Lyons is one of Australia’s leading photographers, renowned for his work featuring people. He has had an association and friendship with the S.C.Pannell Winery since it’s inception and has created some beautiful images of the evolving winery, events and the family behind it. The Art of Winemaking – The Resurrection features one of Australia’s leading winemakers Stephen Pannell as never seen before. Richard’s passion for his craft, and ability to engage his subjects, results in extraordinary and intriguing photographs and installations.
